Original games you own

I first started playing around on a clone of ZX Spectrum with a 3.5 inch floppy drive. And the first game that actually caught my interest was in fact Seymour at the Movies. Found it on a diskette along side Peter Pack Rat and some other games which were most likely pirate copies since the ZX Spectrum I bought came with a bunch of diskettes/casettes that had hand-written labels on them.

Had absolutely no clue what to do in that game. Go left, get ran over by cars, go right, that guard stops you. Had no manual to figure out the basics and as such, I parked that game several times. Each time doing runs between the cars and the guard. But what kept me going were the graphics. I eventually figured out I can get in the car and grab the sunglasses and the rest is history.

Today, I received this original (I hope) casette of Seymour goes to Hollywood and am very excited about it.

This brings up the total number of Dizzy/Seymour titles that I own to exactly 2 (two).

Curious if other folks have originals still? I also plan to get the amiga diskette of Seymour goes to Hollywood, but for now, I find it a bit expensive.

I still have my Spectrum and Commodore 64 tapes a plastic box and my Sega Mega Drive collection on a space on my shelf, whether or not any of them still work I don't know.

All my Spectrums and my only C64 sadly got chucked out as they all got ruined my mould and damp.
My childhood home was not the best place to keep old machines stored safe. {yolkfolk}:tired:

I never owned any of the Seymour games back then, but I knew he existed through the "Fun Starts Here" loading screens that appeared on the Spectrum versions of "CJ in the USA" and "Spellbound Dizzy".

And I also had possession of a C64 magazine that had an article on "Wild West Seymour"

I wasn't until over 20 years ago when I discovered emulation and got to play the Codemasters games I missed out on as a child.

As far as Spectrum games go; Codemasters, Mastertronic, The Hit Squad and Ocean were certainly a few of those publishers that played a big part of my childhood. :yes:  

Well, at least you still have your original media tapes/cartridges. I lost/overwritten mine when the PC era came up.

In my case it was the other way around. Believe it or not, none of my 20+ diskettes had any trace of a Dizzy game on them. For me it started with Seymour. When I visited a friend, he had Spellbound Dizzy and that's the first Dizzy I've ever seen. Obviously I was very familiar with the mechanics of the game by then. I was so excited then to learn there are quite a bunch of Dizzy games, though I never could play the original Dizzy 1 game. I remember hunting for them, making copies of tapes or diskettes wherever I could find them. I eventually got them all on a couple of diskettes. Then, PC came in and I got distracted to other more colorful and nice games.

I always wanted to purchase my original ZX clone, but nowadays there's only one to be found and it's quite expensive. I mean, I can afford paying for it even as such, but I kind-of refuse to pay that much for it. This inner fight led me to create Continuum 93 instead with a vision for the future of it. I'm affraid that buying my childhood nostalgia computer would only serve as to gather another artifact collecting dust on a shelf. Pretty much like this Seymour tape I just bought, but hey... I got that for 20 pounds, transport and all. :D
