If you're familiar with the Sega Master System/Game Gear version of 'Panic! Dizzy', you'll have noticed that the game won't let you pick Zaks as a playable character.
This left me wondering for a long time if Zaks really is unlockable.
Well, it turns out.......HE IS!
How do you do it?
- I chose the 'Dizzy Dice' game.
- Play as Dizzy (the hardest difficulty at this stage).
- When the game is over, your final score will be multiplied by 6 (this ONLY works with Dizzy).
I still don't know for sure how high your score must be, but on this particular run, I scored 033300.
Then, this happened.....
So yes, after all these years, I have the finally solved the "Unlocking Zaks" mystery on the Sega version of 'Panic! Dizzy'!
Sadly, I wasn't able to record it.
But my advice to anybody attempting this yourself, not only do you have to act quickly, but you are allowed to pause your game if you need to think and concentrate hard on which blocks go where.
That's all there is to it, especially if you have good eyes.
I cannot say for certain, but it might also work if you get a high score on 'Shape Shifter' as Dizzy.
But that is way too tough on the hard difficulty!
After another attempt, scoring over 20,000 points doesn't unlock Zaks, which confirms that you do need 30,000 points or more.
Of course, this doesn't apply to the NES version, since you can already play as Zaks there.
So yeah........Can anybody beat my score?
