Dizzy on TV

There's a gaming themed TV show currently airing in the UK on the channel Dave called "Dara O' Briain's Go 8-bit".
And I couldn't help but notice that a familiar face appears on one scene in the show's intro.
This is probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing Dizzy on TV these days. :tongue:

And he is the only game character in the crowd (in that shot at least, I have not seen the whole sequence, but I guess Donkey Kong has something to do with the barrel or is that Farmer Bob from Chuckie Egg top right?), so maybe the programme makers are big Dizzy fans?

hahah, i've been watching this, such a fun show but i never noticed that.
Not sort of, it's offical Dizzy is in tv.

They did play Chuckie Egg a few weeks ago so it probably is. Dizzy may make an appearance.

I noticed during that sequence Dizzy jumps and flips, someone clearly knew their Dizzy games.

Looks like there is a second series coming soon, and did I spot a familiar face at the end of the trailer? Looks like (at least) one of our favourite 8 bit programmers might guest, but I can't tell which one :wink:

The new series looks promising after seeing Philip on there. :smile:

It is said to air on Monday 15th May - no time set yet though.

Don't get the tv channel but they let you watch via their website, thankfully.

Last night's episode of 'Dara O'Briain's Go 8-bit' featured a segment on the final part where they not only played Kwik Snax, but The Oliver Twins also made an appearance.

I watched this the other day, i was hoping the Twins were going to be proper guests. But it's better than noting.
Just a pity they played the game in that manor really.. a bit dumb.

Fingers crossed for more Dizzy in the show.

I think they could do with restructuring the whole show so it gives more time for special guests and not just the has-been celebs burning through games like Gamemaster did, the show is called Go 8-Bit yet they keep playing 3d games and indie mobile games {yolkfolk}:puzzled:

Ellie also kills the show dead in it's tracks with her opinions and feminist comedic comments, she's like the voice-over hag from EuroTrash.
The last decent video games show we had on UK tv was called Bits on Channel4 presented by an all girl team late at night , so it's not me hating on female gaming journalists either.

Hopefully the twins might return with down the rapids since it's a two player game.

No I was talking about the celebs, they'll probably just have celebs on that Dara and Ellie are friends with though an episode of Johnny Vegas could be funny with his love of mmos.

The vast majority of guests are comedians, they tend to do the rounds appearing as guests on pretty much every comedy/panel show on tv, they're just thankful for whatever gig they can get.
