25 YEARS!!
To may it certainly doesn't feel it. Only yesterday (about 15+ years ago) I can remember getting Spellbound Dizzy as an Xmas present. Ah those where the days where you'd get Dizzy games as Xmas presents :smile: {yolkfolk}:yahoo:
Anywhoo.. All this month is Dizzy's Birthday (as we do not know an exact date) so without delay here is our birthday present to you.
Philip Oliver has been very nice in sending myself graphics from a time when his company drew up what Dizzy 'could have been'... This is now in a special folder on the website..
Also the Wonderland Dizzy map is in that folder too.. all for the prying DizzyAGE'rs to get their mits on {yolkfolk}:yahoo:
And for those who feel lucky Dreamworld Pogie is also in the folder.. all ready for the more intelligent NES users out there to make sense of and compile.

Wow, was it really 25 years ago that I walked into my local computer game shop (long since defunct) and paid my £1.99 for Dizzy? Still got the tape up in the loft somewhere.

Yup, you're right. Shame really but oh well.
As for my pics I posted above, the Olivers one was mainly me showing off my 8-bit versions of the Oliver Twins themselves. (One of them is meant to be wearing glasses, hence the blue eyes)
And for my all star pic, well I was actually thoughtful enough to make a list of the characters that appear on there.

Oh, I know! I did the same - though I don't think it was 25 years ago for me, as I'm not quite old enough to have been buying games then! I still have the tape, and the Spectrum to play it on. Probably also have Treasure Island somewhere as well. Did have the entire set of Amiga games, but gave it away a while ago.
Lucky then that I'm in the middle of making a 'birthday' version of MagicLand Dizzy where Dizzy (not Daisy this time) revisits Magicland 20+ years since he last went there. The map is basically the same, but obviously lots of changes have taken place since Zaks got defeated ..and of course the puzzles etc are going to be totally different. I'll apologise in advance to the 'purists' as I'm using graphics from the Amiga & PC versions (and a few other games), plus I'll be using the PC music.

It was funny how you included the same character in multiple art styles in a few places, like the two Super Robin Hoods and the two Captain Blackhearts, as well as characters who only appear on the covers of Dizzy games, like those three archer dragons from Fantastic Dizzy. (Oh I see now--they're DJ Puff edits.) Now you've made me wonder if it wouldn't have been so bad for the 8-bit versions of Cosmic Spacehead to recolor Linus's hands and legs red.
