The remixed Dizzy tunes thread

Thought it be best to start fresh and post about Dizzy's remixes and comment on the remixes already on Yolkfolk.com.

I found a mix of one of the well known Fantastic Dizzy tunes on YouTube quite recently.

Ah good timing, this thread: I am currently working on a Dizzy mix containing samples from Charley by the Prodigy.

I have recently broken my toe {yolkfolk}:crazy: , so have more siting around time {yolkfolk}:clap:

I had been planning to do a new mix for a while now, but this has finally given me time to make a start.

Somebody on YouTube called ChuckBleedinNorris recently put up a SID mix of the 16-bit Fantasy World Dizzy tune. (The music starts at 0:25)

This bloke on YouTube called CoolDudeClem has done renditions of Retro game music, this video has Spellbound Dizzy (Spectrum) and Dizzy TUCA (Amstrad).

Another Fantastic Dizzy one, the Sega MegaDrive Yolkfolk village theme

I made a cover of the song from the DOS/Amiga version of Prince of the Yolkfolk!! (It's not the same song as the Spectrum/C64 ones.)

Don't hold me to this, but my understanding is that (for the C64) Fast Food and Fantasy World Dizzy used the same song from Allister Brimble; in fact, DO hold me to that - when I playback the Fast Food SID, I shut my eyes and see Fantasy World :smile: If I remember correctly, the same song was used in all versions of Fast Food so this is likely the one you're after? Please do correct me if i'm wrong, but otherwise, consider it my priority!

As for Kwik Snax, being the beige child of Commodore that I am, I'm more used to the Scott Joplin songs (The Entertainer, Ragtime Dance etc) that were included with that version. It's been so long since i've played any other version of Kwik Snax, I might need to remind myself of what the main theme sounds like...

Cheers for the feedback guys, it might sound silly, but your encouragement helps! I appreciate that the two (Dizzy) remixes I've released so far are very bouncy/dancey - would definitely like to try and write something a bit slower - i'm expermienting with Fantasy World, but the repetative nature of these songs makes it very difficult... that's not a complaint, I genuinely sit here for HOURS with the Fantasy World melody looping away - my neighbours must hate me (unless they love Dizzy :teethy: )

EDIT: I stand corrected; the C64 SID has Steve Barrett as the author not Brimble, and a STIL comment confirming the Fast Food tracks were taken from the Spectrum soundtrack, and used in Fantasy World.

This is my latest dizzy remix, the tune used in Fast Food/Fantasy World Dizzy depending on format (C64 and Speccy that i know of). I remember it most from Fast Food, hence the title...
