Diamond Mine Dizzy (HELP THREAD)

After much stomping about (by both dizzy and myself) I too have joined the world of 49 diamonds. Where is that elusive last one?

And I seem to have several items left over that I have never used (at least 4 that I can't find a function for and 2 that produce a message somewhere but don't actually produce any results!). Have I simply not found their function or are they red herrings?

If that king asks me to find the last diamond one more time I might just take his sword and...

it's a bit hard for me to say which diamond you're missing. as i said before, it could be any one of about 5 or 6.

and chances are you're missing different ones anyway, i can't believe 3 people are stuck on just one diamond.

Although, like in the 'good old days' (aside from the temptation to look at the maps in Amstrad Action's Cheat Mode section), some of us may prefer to persevere and complete the game on honest terms...

i've just sent alex an e-mail asking if he knows of anyone who's completed it yet :tongue:

it's really difficult for me to say which one you've missed, cause there are about 5 i consider to be equally difficult. (i.e. stupifyingly insanely virtually-impossible to find ones :tongue: )

i'm thinking of putting the walkthrough up at the beginning of april. but i'm not sure whether to include the coin locations or not... :tongue:

and tbh, when i had the original games for the spectrum, i never had anything to tell me what to do. might be why i only ever completed POTYF.....

altho to be fair, i was only about 9 or 10 at the time...

right, i've decided to post the locations of what i consider to be the 5 hardest to find diamonds.

if you want to know, highlight the following hidden text:

1. Behind the tiles in the 'Secret Tower' room. jump left from the left-most cloud in the 'Don't Look Down' room to get there.
2. Hidden by tree bark in the 'Exiting the Town' room
3. In the middle of the 'Banquet Hall Entrance' room, below the swords, hidden by the darkness
4. In the 'Rock Heap' room, behind the moon made of cheese. accessed by dropping from clouds in the 'Yet More CLouds' room
5. Under the quicksand on the beach.

if you looked, please be aware that you cheated! :tongue:

if you HAVE found all of them, any other diamonds you've missed should be reasonably easy to find...

Done! Thanks to that, ahem, 'irresistable helpful pointer'. I must say that, amongst your pointers, they were all 'easy' for me apart from ONE which i would NEVER have found by myself! (and I'm not giving it away). I just assumed it was a standard 'prop' from Dizzy 1.

Now all I have to do is uncover the intro screens... :wall:

i never really played dizzy 1, so am a bit unsure which you mean, but i think it must be that one!

oh and with my games, never assume ANYTHING is just a prop :tongue:

i'm not saying anything other than fair game, what a bloody great conundrum... and in the early days of Dizzy, it's that sort of unquestionable, undending 'testing' that was all patient fans had to rely on! Salutations.

As to the hidden intro screens... an entirely new challenge beckons! {yolkfolk}:angry:

Aaaaah nectar. I think we've found out what the horrifically difficult diamond to find is - I too was stumped until number 4 put me out of my misery.

So several of the items didn't appear to have a use - do they have anything to do with the secret puzzle? {yolkfolk}:blink:

any item that doesn't hide a diamond, that you haven't already used, has no use.

you might be able to find further use for an item that previously hid a diamond tho... :wink:

I'm really sorry to tell you tell you this m8 but when I give the pillow to Dozy, nothing happens {yolkfolk}:scared:

Have you managed to wake up Dozy before giving him that lovely soft pillow? If he hasn't asked you for it, he won't accept it yet.

Right, all thats left is to find the Diamonds, I got 38 so far :smile:

I'm nearly finished with Diamond Mine and am loving it, but I'm having a problem giving Dozy the pillow {yolkfolk}:scratch: Any ideas would be greatfull :teethy:
