Well, its that time again where we wrap up the year with our usual news and updates.
But this time though, there are two website updates.
Not just here, but our sister site "The Codemasters Archive" has also had a very lengthy update.
Of course, do check it out after you finish reading here. ;)
Now onto the news...
-- RZX Archive
We start with some sad news, many Spectrum gamers will be familiar with the RZX Archive, its website and YouTube channel hosted a large collection of Spectrum walkthrough videos.
Darren Pearcy, the owner of the website passed away in 2021, meaning that the YouTube channel was no longer active.
And to rub salt in the wound, YouTube recently terminated the channel with all the Spectrum videos now gone.
This removal has not only affected various Spectrum websites, but its also heavily affected both our sites aswell.
Some of the game pages in our database are now missing videos as a result, especially the Spectrum fan games.
A few channels have recently launched on YouTube, including one from World of Spectrum who are all currently uploading various Spectrum walkthroughs.
It's currently not known if any of the Codemasters games will be included in the process, or more importantly any of the Spectrum Dizzy fan games after reading on various Spectrum forums and groups that certain RZX files are not available to download.
Despite the concerns, we will still show our support to these new channels which you can check out via the links below.

You may have already noticed that the front page has an extra social media button.
After reading that a lot of people are abandoning X (Twitter) for reasons we won't go into on here, BlueSky has become a popular alternative.
Already, our new page on BlueSky has already attracted over 150 followers and counting.
It doesn't mean we'll be abandoning our Twitter page for the time being, simply because we like to reach out to as many Dizzy fans as possible, including the people who worked on the games back in the day - some who have chosen not to move to BlueSky.

-- The Community Forums
Who'd have thought that one of the most quietest forums on the internet would cause us so many frustrations!
It's recently come to our attention that people registering onto our forums are not receiving activation E-mails.
I could just disable the E-mail activation feature until its fixed, but that would open the flood gates to the dodgey spam bots that keep registering.
To try and get around this in the meantime, anyone who has registered on the forums in the past month or so will have their account activated manually by me.
Luckily, I can easily tell which inactive accounts are human and which ones are the spam bots.
You can contact us via any of our social media pages if you're still having difficulties logging in within' several hours after registering.
We hope to have the E-mail problem resolved whenever possible.
When exactly? I do not know as the advanced technical parts of the site its not my speciality.
But at least for now its stopping the spam bots from posting their rubbish on here.

Both game files require Clickteam Fusion 2.5 to open.

-- Added scans from various issues of Sega Pro and Sega MegaZone.

-- Added variant of "Treasure Island Dizzy" poster with logo.
-- Added high-res scan of "Super All-Stars".

-- Added a few magazine adverts that Dizzy has appeared in.

-- Some sections of the page tidied up, along with a few updated images.
