Christmas Chaos Dizzy v2.0 [DOWNLOADABLE]

Post by Adz.M » Mon Oct 05, 2015 8:42 am

First off, yes I AM aware It's October!

I was planning to release this in December, but I felt that now maybe an ideal time to release it. (Partly to annoy those who can't stand Xmas being mentioned too soon. :p )

v2.0

Like Magic Maniax 6, this game uses the platform engine by AndyUK.

Story:
Winter has arrived in the Kingdom of Zakeria.

With the entire Kingdom covered in snow, Dizzy decides to do some exploring.
But little does he realise that his exploration soon leads to a series of tasks.

Controls:
- MAIN MENU/OPTIONS CONTROLS
ARROW KEYS UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT
ENTER - Confirm Option

- INGAME CONTROLS (Default)
Z - Left
X - Right
K - Up
M - Down
SPACE - Jump
ENTER - Pause/Unpause game, Talk to character

ESCAPE - Quits to Main Menu during gameplay.

Passwords:
The password system can only be accessed via the game's Main Menu option.
You will find passwords after finishing one chapter.

Known bugs:
-- Dizzy tends to slip on slopey platforms and on the edges of boulders, It's down to the way AndyUK coded the platform engine.

-- There are problems where the scrolling appears wavey/wobbly in the game, the issue is heavily visible on a few levels.

I'm doing well and really enjoying the game but I've come across a problem with one of the passwords. The numbers are etched into a tree in the section following the tunnels. When I enter the password it just takes me to a screen with a large Dizzy with a silhouette Santa sleigh in the background. Have I found a bug?

No, I'm afraid that was a nasty trick. Sorry. :v2_dizzy_blush:

But all the passwords after a boss level are trustworthy.

Hi Adz, Christmas Chaos is really good but I have been stuck for days now trying to beat the hunter. I don't mind having to repeat that last section but I am getting really p.....d off having to do the other three sections again and again. Is there any way I can put in a code or something to take me straight to the forest section ?

I've PM'd you in regards of a password.

I am considering altering the level down the line to make it less frustrating.

Thanks for your pm Adz. I've finished now and I really enjoyed the game even though it's only October!! Look forward to more of your games as I love the graphics etc., and hope someone clever produces another Dizzy Christmas game before Christmas. The Christmas games with all the snow have something special about them.

Glad you enjoyed it. :)

v1.1 should now be up. - Altered a section of the Hunter Chase level.

Also, I forgot to mention before. If there's any Sega Mega Drive gamers here, see if you recognise any of the music used in the game.

I guess It's now safe to say why I released this game two months earlier. :p

The surprise announcement of Wonderland was the reason why I released this game earlier than planned and I thought fans (including myself :) ) would be more focused on playing Wonderland rather than pay any attention to any fangame releases for the rest of the year.

Still, now It's December. Hope you all enjoy it. :)

v1.2 should now be up.

Nothing major, just some minor clean ups and most of the Dizzy Amiga SFX used in the game have been replaced with fresh high quality ones.

v1.4

- Fixed screen resolution so the game no longer appears stretched on widescreen monitors.
- Removed strange yellow tint on some characters' eyes.
- Some levels have had minor alterations.
