Hide & Seek Dizzy by Andy Mason of Dock Tower, 2010 (v 1.02)
================================================

The Story in Brief
=============
Its been a while since the evil wizard Zaks has bothered the yolkfolk and they are getting bored. So they decide to have a game of hide & seek.

Object of the Game
=============
You play as Dizzy and the idea is to find where the rest of the yolkfolk are hidden solving problems on the way. After Dizzy has found them all direct him back to the start to end the game.

Scattered throughout the game are collectable stars, 62 in total. It is not necessary to collect all these to win the game. If the player wants the greatest challenge though then they should try and collect them all.

Wildlife
=====
Various creatures live in the landscape. Contact with these will zap your energy. Energy can be replenished by eating strawberries that you might find. Watch out these strawberries are rare.

This is an absolutely delightful game - Im very much enjoying this.

It has the feel of Fantastic Dizzy with bright graphics and I just love the way it plays - Great music too!!! And i love the little surprises like meeting some old favourites like CJ and is that the music for James Pond I hear?

The game does have some buggy moments like the scrolling feeling a little jerky or graphics appearing as if out of nowhere or the gap between music looping - but its totally outweighed by the fun factor.

I dont even want to rush to complete it - its just delightful to play!!

A very enjoyable game FUN FUN FUN!!!

The scrolling is no good,.. because of the style of the graphics everything is fuzzy, blurry and flickering around while moving, it's really hard to focus on anything. Is there way we can switch it off? Didn't have this problem with your other scrolling game last year so i put it down to the higher graphics and the fact it's the whole screen/background.

I dunno of anyone else is experiencing the same thing?

Other than that it's pretty cool. (got 30 stars so far) Great to play a game with those Fantastic Dizzy graphics for a change... something different.

Great looking game, very much Fantastic/Excalibur Dizzy style (and the 16 bit game versions that Jamie did ).
Scrolling in Dizzyage I think has always been a little jerky but not really a problem.
The problem I'm having is that I have to play in open gl mode 'cos my graphics card has given up so it's like playing in slow motion. Is there any way to speed it up?
So first impression is that this is yet another great Dizzy game. :v2_dizzy_clapping:

29 stars and plodding on.

Smooth Scroll Version

Post by dr.Titus » Thu Apr 29, 2010 11:51 pm

I wish to offer 'Hide & Seek Dizzy' with my version of smooth scrolling from my meanwhile non-realised game. As has corrected water animation...

It's up on Yolkfolk :)

It truly is enjoyable, I'll have a proper play later. :)

And I'm not having any issues with the scrolling at all.
