Editor Flickering

Post by Rinpoche » Sat Apr 03, 2010 4:09 pm

Hi does anybody know why dizzyage might be flickering:

When first loading the room lines and grid lines all flicker until I place a tile and then only the placed tiles flicker (grid is then fine)

Then when I delete tiles they still show (and flicker) and only disapear when I change edit modes and back

Im running Window 7 x64 - I've tried compatability mode disabling everything that I think could cause an error! - (interestingly enough it works find under windows 7 x64 on parallels on my macbook just not on my pc)

im guessing it could be graphic drivers but im running the latest version

any ideas or anyone had similar issues?

cheers for any help

It might be a compatiblity probem with the display driver. I run the same version of windows 7 without problems.

Try opening the editor.ini in a text editor and alter
options_videoapi to 1 and save it

The video api stands for directx (0) and opengl (1).
I hear there are some compatibility issues with windows7, especially older versions of dizzyage (before 2.0) but I didn't look into it; so far I don't have a windows7 system.

I had the same problem last year, and posted about it here. The solution of switching to OpenGL is the only one that works for me. I never did get any further with the SLI or Quad Core theories.
