Hmm, I don't recall I've ever heard sound effects in any but the ZX Spectrum version of Spellbound Dizzy. In Dizzy games that support it, it's usually the M key that switches between music and sounds. If I haven't forgotten, the Commodore 64 allowed this toggle in Treasure Island, Fantasy World, MagicLand, and Prince of the Yolkfolk, while the Amiga and Atari ST allowed it in Treasure Island and Fantasy World--and also Crystal Kingdom, but through a menu from the title screen only, which didn't seem to be available on CD32.

I don't think you can turn off the music on the Amiga version. I've tried myself.
