I think the Commodore 64 version had a bug where Theo would allow you to go home just for having found all 16 stars, even if you hadn't rescued anyone else. I'm pretty sure Peter fixed that one!

I only played Dizzy9's game through because I think homebrew Nintendo games are pretty cool. I don't play on DizzyAGE a lot because it makes my CPU run hot fast.

In the full game you take a ride in the mine cart, but in this version it's just an obstacle for an easy first puzzle.

certain items carried with 3 rocks will take you down to the bottom ;) But in the original version, the net and shears each counted as the weight of one rock at all times, not just when you were also carrying three rocks. I feel it's less confusing in the long run for those two items to be heavy at...

I think it depends on which version you have. The one included on Dizzy's Excellent Adventures seems to have fewer bugs, or at least different bugs than the one sold stand-alone or on The Big 6.
