Requirements

System requirements:

DizzyAGE runs on a PC with a 3D accelerated graphic card (GeForce2 or above recomanded).
It runs on Windows operating system and it requires DirectX 9 (or above) or OpenGL installed. If you experience problems running DizzyAGE on your PC configuration, contact us with the details.

User requirements:

As a DizzyAGE user, you must have some idea about the original Dizzy games, and of course, basic computer operating knowledge. Before you start with the practical chapters, you must read the other two books that are part of the DizzyAGE documentation.

One is the GS9 Programming Book, that presents the scripting language used in DizzyAGE games. No prior programming experience is required. The book takes you from the beginning, in a very pedant way.
For some people, already posessing programming skills, a simple glance over the language's syntax and variable's types will be enough.

The other one is the DizzyAGE Editor Book, that presents the process of creating the game's map, using the DizzyAGE editor. It will also introduce you to some important DizzyAGE notions, that are learned more easily, in the visual enviroment of the map editor.

Software requirements:

Beside the DizzyAGE devtools, there are a few other softwares that can help you while creating your games. You can still do without them, using default Windows programs, like Notepad for editing text files.

To edit the graphics you will need a graphic editor, like Adobe Photoshop or The Gimp.
To quickly view or to convert image files, I recommend ACDSee or IrfanView.
To edit scripts and other text files, I recommend UltraEdit or SciTE.
To edit sounds or convert music files, I recommend Audacity.
For AY and YM music conversion, I recommend Sergey Bulba's AY-3-8910/12 Emulator.
For YM music player, I recommend Arnaud Carré's STSound.
For easy files management, I recommend Total Commander, instead of Windows Explorer.
