tbh it is nice to have a nice box for it, i just think it's easier to then install it direct to the Hard Drive.

i may do something similar for each game in The Lord of Darkness series, as they will each be massive games, so it is more worth it.

the only problem with that is that i'm no-where near as gifted an artist as Alex seems to be.

Indeed, the sample hes posted showing them do look to be rather impressive.
If only you could sell them although would need a lot more of us

(I certainly agree with putting onto the hard drive though)

due the copyright issues, no-one is allowed to actually sell Dizzy fan games. indeed Blitz and Codemasters are kind enough to actually let people do fan games in the first place!

you can make games using DizzyAGE and sell them, however you'd have to use all your own graphics tiles, and have different characters etc. While it's true that TLoD doesn't use almost any tiles from the DizzyAGE tileset, most of the tiles used are adapted from the tileset in some way, so the copyright would probably still apply.

Yes its pretty well known due to the copyright issues, personally if Blitz / Codemasters are never gonna do owt with dizzy again then they should past the rights on to anyone who may wish to. Even if they are kind enough to let fan games be made, maybe they have no choice in that as long as no commercial gain is attained, however I still think its pretty poor of them.

I don't think it would be far to make people pay for 'fan games' anyway.
Would you have bought Scrambled eggs? i wouldn't lol.

But it would have to be a proper game.. and in 3d.
you can't expect people to buy what we do with dizzyage.. lol

HOWEVER.. Bubble bobble can be officially bought for the pc.
they could package the games up on one disco and sell them officially that way for the pc..

    Indeed.

But yes in 3D but if no one gets the rights then we aint gonna see what could be done or what could be like and even if it would work but like I say perhaps wouldnt be commercially viable anyway, hence why its never happend.

well i think it would sell well... i see old classic being updated to theses DS things and wiis.. my topic about the return of Simon the sorrcera is a fine example... so it has a place and there is a market.

Someone has to take the first step.. trouble is no one thinks its there responsablity... I'm guess codemasters are the ones who should take the first step? Sometimes i wonder of theses companys want to make money... you cant let a classic character like Dizzy be lost and left to rot. Even just once we need to update him for the 2000's

dizzyage is keeping him alive but its not the same thing, and not getting him back in the spot light.
