    Default Emulator Running Too Fast

    Hi guys,

I've had the ZX32 simulator for a while but changed to a newer PC over a year ago and recently tried using the emulator for the 1st time since.

It still works, but it's lightening fast. This is a blessing in some football games where you'd normally have to sit for ages while it calculates scores/ league tables etc but is a nightmare in other games as tapping a key once registers about 50 times!

Any ideas how to slow this thing down?

Hi Invisibabe, I used to use ZX32 and I think I know what your problem is.

On the Emulator, if you press F9, an Options box should show up.
Then in the Options box you should see one of the tabs at the top saying "Z80" click on it and you should see a setting called "clock speed", If It's too high that could be the reason why It's so fast, so if you move the thing halfway between low and high, it should make the Emu run at normal speed.

    Hope this helps.

Hi Adz, thanks for the advice. I've given it a shot but sadly it doesn't seem to make any difference whatsoever.

Maybe I'm better off with switching to a different emulator. Can anybody recommend another good one that you can load/ save in a split second with 1 click of the mouse?

Maybe I'm just stupid but I tried uninstalling ZX32 and re-installing it and there's no difference.

I've also tried downloading X128, AND managed to get a game to load, which is great, but there's this sort of "throbbing machine gun sound" and the only way to stop it seems to be to turn off ALL the sound, which I don't want. Any suggestions?

there is a 'throbbing' sound on the tape loader page at the start, but that's only cause the original sinclair had that sound!

it shouldn't be present in the game...

I use Spectaculator, but for some stupid reason, you can only download a 30 day trial, then you have to buy it.
