I keep getting killed as soon as i enter a new room,.
It's no good saying make sure the exit is clear when you can't see what behind the door or haven't been in that room/c
door before, Doesn't help when you enter a room can't pass though the locked door as the key is on the other side and theres a bloody pirate waiting for you in the previous room.!!!!

I'm starting to get used to the intolerant falling but it's hard to avoid instant kills.

Arch over a 100 already? I've not got into double figures yet.. lol
This is one of those really horrible games I'm starting to hate but keep having 'one more go' this one more go has been going on for the last 20 minutes lol and has turned into several one more goes... OK on wards.

I apologise for any coughing/burping etc that may have happened during the recording! I also blame the less than brilliant mic for my coughs sounding strange...

Right, I'm going to answer this as tactfully as I can...

If you haven't been in that Hold before, then you WILL NOT be killed instantly, ok? There are a couple of rooms where you may have to move quite quickly, but you will NEVER be killed instantly in a NEW Hold. Just thought I'd clear that up.

As I've said numerous times now, DON'T EXIT A HOLD UNLESS YOU'RE CERTAIN YOU CAN GET BACK IF YOU NEED TO!

    pure clumsiness.

the above regarding exiting doors also applies to other doors in that Hold, in case you happen to enter that Hold again through another door.

Seriously, I've given as many hints as I can as to the easiest ways to play it. Sure it's difficult, but I ain't gonna make a game that takes you 5 mins to saunter through. If you think it's too difficult, search for 'booty' on here, play that for a while, and then come back and tell me that PSD is not easier than the game it's based on.

    rant over.

You exit a room from one door and enter it again from another and your dead.. because you can't count each exit is safe or which door is going to take you too which room.. it's a real pain in the ass.. just saying.
    It's just unavoidable.

Thanks for the time in doing the vid Jamie, I know you would beable to do it & I knows it's 'do able' as I have got across & back on the moving sections, just I haven't managed to do them concurrently without having a mis-time.

if in doubt, don't go for it! You'll see in the video a few times where I've missed the time to cross, as I left it until I was sure that it was the correct point.

Maybe its just me, but sometimes when I have 'hopped' (well, I am a frog) onto a horizontaly moving platform, I seem to have to run to stay on it, but at other times if I do run I seem to run at double speed?

For the vertical platforms i find the best way is to stand half over the edge and wait for the platform to collect you on its way up

I remember playing Booty on my Speccy back in the day, and agree with Delta, it was a tough, unforgiving game, but I am no better at this version to be honest. But it definitely still has that 'just one more go' factor!

(and is the mystery hacker going to create a save-gameable version? )

it's not just you. If you catch the lift at the *last moment* then it doesn't pick you up as it would normally, and you'll have to run to stay on it.

they'll have a much harder job...

with *whichever game it was that was hacked*, I just removed the option from the menu, meaning it was easily re-installed. With this game, I've removed every single bit of code that relates to saving/loading a game. Mainly to pare the coding down to an absolute minimum.

A save game would make it too easy tbh. You'd just walk through it.

anyway, I'm not a complete ogre... There may well be a 'beta-test' option still in there, waiting to be activated...

Funnily enough I don't have any problem with the horizontal platforms as you can stand at the edge of the 'solid' ledge with three quarters of Dizzy hanging over the edge and just 'step' onto the platform when it reaches you. But I do have the same problems Meph has with the vertical lifts - now for a confession! I have temporarily disabled the 'disappearing' ledges in the red/white hold so that I can see where the doors lead to and not die when completing that hold ...but still can't complete even the first galleon because of the problems I have with the vertical lifts. No doubt Jamie will say 'serves you right for trying to cheat!' Maybe I just might look for that elusive 'beta-test' ..if it actually exists.
