View Full Version : Things i like, things i don't like
About Fantasy world Dizzy.
things i don't!
1. Forget the pick up the bolder after droping the bone!
its probably one of the worse moments of any dizzy game... imaging doing that and then spending the next hour wondering around!
2. the bean stalk.. i dunno what it is but i can never climb the dam thing. i just roll off.
3. The hole in the bag.. whats the point?
4. I do hate the lack of life bar but its not a massive problem with the game.
things i do.
Dragons, introducting the yolkfolk, kicking dozy in the sea,
upside down world, illusion puzzle, coins are reasonable to find.
Whiskey bottle.

from what i remember:
yeah didn't like the bean stalk - took me hrs to get up that
whisky bottle [thought that was hillarious]
loved the upside down world
can't remember much more for now [might go back & have another go] :v2_dizzy_walkman:
Oh, i also like the 'treasure island portrait' in the castle.

i so loved this game when i was small! it was one of my favorite ones! i hate how you die if you touch a flame :(
Dizzy looked ridiculous with that hat, what is he, crocodile dundee? I preferred the look he had in the arcade games to be honest, but, otherwise I really liked the graphics in this game, some of my favourite next to Crystal Kingdom and Spellbound.
Being the first Dizzy game that I ever played I'm rather fond of this one.
I'm surprised that so many seem to have had a problem with the beanstalk, as personally I've never found it too bad.
The one thing I'm not too fond of is the Wide-eyed Dragon; it blows its flames totally at random, making getting close enough to it to smash the jar of sleeping potion more a matter of luck than skill.
never knew you could put it too sleep until recently lol i always use to just run past.. lol
Yeah I always got stuck when you would get over the clouds and into the castle.. I think you had to put something on top of those spikes, a rug was it.. can't remember
I didnt hate the beanstalk but i hated the clouds, you don't slip through most of them then suddenly one of them has a hole in it!
Also that bloody illusion screen. You know, the one under the docks. There is like, one coin in there and it takes about 40 minutes to get out of it...
Nice to see they learned their lesson and put another on in Spellbound dizzy GRRRR!

Gag objects rule. Modern gamers seem far too impatient to appreciate that sort of humour. Same with the advert scrolls in Treasure Island
(how's this for a first post)

I used to have nightmares about that dam swooping bird. I never seemed to be able to time it right and it used to swoop down and kill me almost everytime. I remember having to ask my older brother to do this screen for me everytime I came to it :D
The beanstalk was a nightmare for me as well and I too kept falling off it. The worst occasion this happened to me was when I had only 1 life left and I rolled off it. I had very nearly completed the game as well. I wasn't impressed, but I later came back to it and completed it a few weeks later.
The upside down world was tough to escape from for me I remember. It took me a good while to suss out what ledges to jump on to :D

this is (or was) my least favourite of the series but this is mostly because i played the amiga/dos versions growing up and didn't like the graphics compared to the rest of the series on the amiga
i still haven't completed it either as i could never find all the coins, even with the coin map
i do however like the treasure island picture in the castle hall way, kicking dozy out to sea, getting dizzy drunk and the upside-down world
