wow i wish i had time to watch all that!

The Lord of Darkness was indeed my attempt to see if i could adapt the DizzyAGE engine enough to be able to make a game similar to Valhalla. Thankfully i could, altho not to the extent of the view moving with the player :( ah well.

The name is quite similar, however the story is loosely based on the 2nd Valhalla game: Before The War, rather than the 1st one, The Lord of Infinity.

a little background, each game was originally on about 7 floppy discs, the puzzles etc were loaded by the game, and then the speech for each level was on a seperate floppy disc which was in the drive the whole time. the reason for the slight delay in the character talking is that the game accessed the floppy drive to play the speech every time.

There were 4 levels to each game (3 games), and each level was quite a bit bigger than the ones in The Lord of Darkness, and the puzzles were harder too!

it's interesting that this guy chose to use the original game, rather than the re-mastered version you can download from Vulcans website HERE. the first level (episode) is free, but you have to pay for the rest (however it's only about ?2 per level).

Seriously, if you liked TLoD, you'll love Valhalla.
