Any interest in this game around here at all?
There's a great opportunity there to create a Dizzy themed level, the potential is HUGE. If you've got it (or not, search youtube) have a look for the Mirrors Edge, God Of War or Silent Hill levels to get an idea.
i'll be sure to get it,
its one of the only ps3 games i thought looked interesting before i bought one.
I've got the game.
And got to admit that I'm thoroughly impressed with it. :v2_dizzy_happy:
Endless possibilities with the level creation tools, giving you literally 1000s of levels to play online.
I've even already gone and created myself a Dizzy Sackboy already.
Admittedly it's just a Sackboy with cartoon eyes, his body painted white with his shoes and gloves painted red, topped off with a cowboy hat painted green... But I like its simplicity. :v2_dizzy_happy:
And my Dizzy Sackboy is always my Sackboy of choice for levels that involve adventure and exploring. :dizzy_cool:

Any chance you could take a photo?
The missus has got me this for Christmas, looking forward to getting stuck in :)
And if anyone has the latest issue of the official PS3 mag in the UK, check out the culture page!
i've never heard of this.

I tell you Meph, where you are now is an enviable place to be.
My advice would be to keep as ignorant of this for as long as possible
When I saw the adverts and reviews for this 'Sackboy' I cringed in places i hadnt cringed before. I wont be giving this a go if I can help it, It looks NAFF!!!:v2_dizzy_fingers:
But what the hey Im sure theres millions of 'sane' people out there who like that kind of thing.
Perhaps making a Dizzy level is Sackboys only route to salvation??
Steven,
It would be good if you can post us a pic/vid - After all, anything Dizzy related has to be good...

It's not until you play the game that it grips you, the level creation aspect is easily accessible, and the levels already thrown in are full of charm and never fail to raise a smile. There's certainly no sense to be found in passing a game over based on the marketing campaign, at least give it a go!
Also, i would get the feeling that Meph is being sarcastic, this game's been everywhere for months now!

I'm still not sure about this lil planet thang..
when it comes to games i thought i was pretty open minded
Ive enjoyed games involving all manner of unusual characters such as elves, orcs, dragons, space aliens, robots, droids, comic book superheroes, slimey green blobs, giant marshmallow men, spinning blue hedgehogs and plumbers wearing racoon outfits - even walking Eggs
BUT i have my limits and draw the line at animated pieces of sack cloth
I mean why sack cloth?!? There are so many more fashionable not to mention, less itchy fabrics...
How about SilkGirl  or maybe a game called, 'The hazey adventures of HempBoy' :dizzy_cool:
Where does it end ;) Ill take Eggs wearing Boxing Gloves any day...
I don't have any decent means of uploading videos or pictures from the game at the moment, at best I can try and take some pics with a digital camera but the quality will obviously be quite poor.
As for the itchy sack fabric complaint...
If it's any conselation, you can choose from a variety of fabrics, not just sack. :v2_dizzy_happy: Lol.
And yes, DizzyFanUK... Silkgirl is a possibile character design within LittleBigPlanet.
As for the tv adverts...
Don't get me started on them. :v2_dizzy_dry:
Personally I think Sony have done a very poor job of portraying what the game is about on them.
Also, i would get the feeling that Meph is being sarcastic, this game's been everywhere for months now!
Excuse me?
Never heard or seen it, and i don't recall any television adds or anything.. i not saying a tv add hasn't come on while I've been watching but that dones't necessary mean i payed any attention to it.. the little tv i do get to watch.
Its not stepped into my sights, until this topic.

Silk-Girl, you say?
Let me entertain that thought....Drool
Im pretty impressed with it. Although the story mode is a little frustrating, and short.
Now ive beaten that and done all the tutorials i can finally start making stuff. (not that you need to beat the story mode first)
Well the story mode is really only an introduction to the various tools, themes and settings available. Along with having the unlockable costumes and design items hidden within it.
That said though, I read that they're going to be releasing official addon levels as downloadable content. However if they have a story, I assume that it will be a new sidestory, as there's not really much story to build on as it is.
As requested, here's a few pics of my Sack Dizzy.
You'll have to forgive the poor quality, taking photos with a digital camera was my only option.

As you can see, it's a simple character design...
But then again, that goes hand in hand with the original Dizzy, I suppose. :v2_dizzy_happy:
However even with such simplicity, he's definitely my favourite Sackboy for adventuring and exploring on LittleBigPlanet. :dizzy_cool:

its not even egg shaped!!
its not even egg shaped!!
True...
It is just a basic skin that overlaps Sackboy.
And currently there's no egg shaped costume for Sackboy to wear.
However you could also argue that the Old Snake, Sephiroth and other related character costumes aren't exact likenesses of their original characters.

This has only convinced me further that Sackboy is LAME!!!:v2_dizzy_tongue2:So yeah...you've not played the game...but are gonna continue to slag it off based on the marketing and it's aesthetics? BOOOOOORING!
No matter what costume you put on the sackboys, they'll always have the shape of a sackboy...

Has anyone taken the plunge and got the Metal Gear level pack? It's such great fun, the levels have a whole new dynamic with the paint gun. Questionable that it would be worth the money if you don't plan on creating your own levels, but i've had a riot playing them.

I've just read this thread. I've only recently bought Little Big Planet and I'm finding it really addictive and fun to play. I've currently designed my Sackboy with a Santa Claus outfit which I downloaded for free off the Playstation network :D
I've not ventured off into the level creation bit yet. It all seems very complicated from what my friends have told me about it and me being the novice I am might struggle creating my own level, but will take the plunge when I get some spare time over the weekend and give it a go.
Did anyone ever create a Dizzy themed level in LBP? There was mention early in this thread that it would be good to create one, just wondering if anyone here has done that yet.

Very late to the party, but I have to say that I love LittleBigPlanet; it's an enjoyable game on my own, but with people, it really comes into its own. Especially with the endless possibilities for levels (as you guys have stated; I'll have to look for some Dizzy levels when I play again). The Dizzy sackperson is really neat, too.

A few years ago I gave an attempt at making a world similar to a Dizzy world. It wasn't easy getting it right though, was trying to make a blocked cave that needed blowing up and either the explosives weren't strong enough to blast it all down or the blocks could be easily pushed. It also requires you to have completed many achievements to unlock certain things. I'll maybe give it another go some day but I don't know if LBP is still popular these days.
