Do you think other than the unofficial Dizzy stuff, he's officially dead? I can't see the developers wanting to make another one especially when looking at that petition. I mean there's less than a thousand people who signed it.

I guess a next-gen Dizzy is just a dream.

Much as it pains me to say it, I think you could probably be right. There certainly seems to be very little chance of a new official game at the moment.

Having said that, I suppose that there's always some chance (albeit slight), so we shouldn't give up all hope!

but what would an official game bring that hasn't/can't be done in a fan game?

i mean they would have to make that 3D version.

that 3d demo's got a lot to answer for. i'm happy with the dizzyage fan games. if there was a new official game it would have to be something out of this world. how about the yolkfolk online?

That is actually the second petition, the first one was hosted on petitiononline.com for years and had thousands of signatures on it. The current petition is only advertised on yolkfolk.com, so only people searching for dizzy and find yolkfolk will even know about the petition.

Oh right. Well I guess over 800 is quite an achievement considering this one isn't advertised much.

LOL! Now that would be an MMO I would play. One set in the Dizzy World would be so sweet.

Exactly, a professional game would be in 3D. It would have to be in order to compete in the current market. I can't see any Dizzy fans doing that any time soon. But a big team with a big budget easily could.

For consoles like Playstation, XBox and Wii, theres the likely chance he's appears in 3D, although on the DS he doesn't have to be in 3D I don't think.

I think modern games should give players the option to choose wither a 3D mode or a mode that has Dizzy's original feel or something. I'm just talking random :p.

Another random thought is that if Dizzy had a TV series, there's usually the likely chance he'd make is comeback in Video Game form.

I can only hope the original poster has been around with the Dizzy Community longer than his join date 'march 08' suggests. The petition is a vital part to bringing Dizzy back and as people sign the petition almost everyday its going from strength to strength.
As for Dizzy coming back I have put a lot of thorght into it and will say that there is one area of 'gaming' that you guys havent picked up on in which Dizzy could play a major part in. I am drawing up some plans and will be sending it to Blitz Games's offices as soon as I can get them finished lol.

Bottom line is that Dizzy WILL be back. :v2_dizzy_tongue2:

You know how it is these days. Even developing a DS game costs a lot of money so unless it is guaranteed to sell well then they wont even bother.

And even then it will probably just be a remake of Treasure island dizzy or Prince of the yolkfolk. (one of the smaller games) Maybe with a different item position mode to increase the replayability.

(Or an even lazier option would be to release the Megadrive Fantastic dizzy rom on the Wii )

i guess another route would be to make a mobile phone game version although i doubt phones are well suited to a platform puzzler.
