About the Empty teasure chest

Hi, im new in the forum

I finish the game several times, and i love it.
but i dont know how can i do with the "empty teasure chest" that i find in the ocean...

There is any utility for this item

The small beach where you find the bag of salt, you can use the chest to get to the top of the small cliff at the end of that beach, if you've played Tresure Island Dizzy, you'll know what I mean.
