I already know of Seymour and Simply Magic, but are there any other great Dizzy-type games not starring Dizzy?

I always enjoyed Olli and Lissa 3...
You could check out CJ's elephant antics as well, although it's a little different from Dizzy but it's still a platform adventure.

If you like humours platform adventures then look out for the 'Magic Knight' series on the Spectrum.

A couple of games that are dizzy in everything but name in the sense that they involve finding items to solve puzzles and progress:

Murray Mouse is Dizzy as a mouse and even more cartoony:

These are excellent and certainly worth looking for, they went a long way toward filing the gap between dizzy releases.

There is one more Dizzy-style game: "48 irons". In that game, you are not alone. You are travelling with a weirdy buddy, and sometimes he may help you to solve some puzzles.

Quite a lot of ZX games had a slightly Dizzy feel to them, some of which probably pre-date Dizzy. Pyjamarama might have been one, or maybe that was a bit more like Jet Set Willy. I seem to remember seeing a game in Commodore Format called something like Magic Rufus, it looked very Dizzy-like, maybe it's on the Spectrum as well. I see someone already mentioned Sceptre of Baghdad.
