Did anybody ever find out how to get to the menu screen on the Spectrum version of this game without using any cheats or anything??
I did! :D
And I didn't get there by quitting the game either!
I can still remember how I did it but not got time now to write a full explanation of what to do.
I will do later if I can.

I'd need a screen shot so I'll do that when I go home tonight and send it with instructions tomorrow morning.
Mind you, tonight I am going kickboxing and also want to do some of my other online (a priority!) game tonight so I'll try and remember to do this.
Somebody text me to remind me. Cheers! ;)

Oh my god! Please can somebody urgently send me the snapshot (or even better the .TAP file of the other one) for TI Dizzy so I can do this on my speccy emulator. Send it to my email address if possible.
I can't grab screen shots off the emulator that works, but the emulator I CAN grab screenshots doesn't like the .z80 file I've got!!
I need this to proceed with detail on how to get to the menu screen.
Cheers in advance!

Adz, Cheers for the .tap file but I didn't need it. Instead, I manages to get Dizzy to the exact position needed, saved the snapshot, and loaded the saved snapshot into the Windows emulator to get a screenshot the very second before it crashed.

Anyway here goes:

Pit up a couple of objects AND THEN the snorkel. This isn't required to get there, but it is a strange screen and the clouds seem to kill. From memory, I think part of the screen is as if you're under water. Whatever gets dropped on this screen also remains when the title screen is presented again at the end of the game (The objects on the screen are also SOLID so can't be moved/picked up).
Anyway, enough of the waffle and on with the journey.
Examine the following screenshot:
(sorry - I bought a 277K *.bmp file to work so I have to upload a zipped file. If anybody could maybe convert this to a *.gif (lossless compression) or a *jpeg (lossy, but better filesizes) for me and post it I would be very greatful - I don't have the tools here at work but do at home, but I'm not online at home - vicious circle! :hitwall: ).

OH MY GOD!!! I CAN'T UPLOAD FILES! Somebody speak to Admin!!!:O

Anyway, when I can upload this zip file I will continue.

Admin - Sort out my account please! I't saying I've updated my maximum 10 files or somthing.
Cheers.

Sorry for the wait people - I promise to do this once I can set this file uploaded!:v2_dizzy_frown:

I'm having the same problem with my attachments and my attachments folder is empty.

If you email me the image, I can change it to a PNG and upload it onto Yolkfolk :)

Eggcellent!!! :D
OK guys, in the above screen (in the last post), go to the EXACT position as shown, then jump to the left WITHOUT walking first. Then you will appear on the top of the cliff (sprite collision thingy). Continue jumping to the left and you will appear bove the mineshaft! Brilliant!!!
so now what we do is KEEP JUMPING TO THE LEFT - do not walk when you're on the top of the left mountain bit otherwise it might go wrong and end up in an endless loop (you'll see what I mean if it happens). If done correctly Dizzy will be seen hurtling diagonally to the left as he gets "whisked" (sorry) off to a faraway land!
You land in the tree. Use your objects (I always use fence pieces) and make a new game of trying to get past the tree on the left!
Hope this works people.
Let me know how you get on. I would also like to know if this also works on different versions as I've never tried it.
Thanks.

Right, I've followed what has mentioned and recorded the moment on a Speccy Emu called EmuZWin.

The zip is 4 Megs and the AVI inside is 77 megs!

I can't look at that as I work in a secure environment and there is no way I'll be able to download a file of that size (4MB).
I'm assuming it has worked however (hopefully)? :v2_dizzy_happy:

I'm only getting audio from that avi, but I was able to reproduce the bug.

Was good!

We've disabled file uploads for all users, this is because vbulletin saves then to the sql database which causes us problems when backing up and restoring the database.

If you want to upload something you can either send it to an admin via email or upload it to a file sharing site like rapidshare.com or simlar.

Normally anything that works on the spectrum version will work on the speccy versions aswell, this is because all the speccy dizzy games were made on the amstrad and 'ported' over with a special contraption the oliver twins had made. :v2_dizzy_happy:

I've just had a go with the Commodore 64 version (via the Win 64 emulator). That works as well.

A tad late, but if anyone can't download the file I've uploaded a video of me recreating this on Youtube....

This works on the C64 version too, yes. I recently mapped out this game in excel and found the same thing to be true whilst exploring, but you don't need the snorkel or anything. You just fall through about three screen of blackness and then on to island with the 'solid' snorkel and the 'solid' scroll. It's surprisingly easy to get there considering you have to reach the position in the screen shot to pick up the 'extinct species' plant and retrieve the coin behind it to go towards escaping the island. The little 'loop' glitch is still present, too.
