View Full Version : Iron Tower Dizzy v1.04 [DOWNLOADABLE]
It was a struggle, fuelled by desperation, but it is finished with a little over a day to go before the competition deadline.
I've not been able to give it the very thorough testing I would like, but it should be relatively bulletproof. I really went for the most complicated stuff I could manage. I expect bugs will surface in due course, and mention them here so I can fix them.
Full play time, even knowing all the solutions, is something like 90 minutes.

Found a bug, When daisy clicks the yellow lever in the echoing chamber It says it's locked in place, then opens the inventory. When you select an item it comes up with an error. :(
Otherwise, loving the game, really got my brain going.

Hey this is certainly different and you have to do a lot in each room.
I like how the cameras follow you, nice touch. Quite a lot of logic needed so clever puzzles, liked the paint filling, I got stuck with brown for ages trying to get the dark blue until I sussed I could start again by disposing it down a certain bathroom utility then got passed that.
Stuck now though after blending the orange last night and not started playing again as yet. Also like how you have to work as a team with Daisy :v2_dizzy_clapping:

Great new feel to a Dizzy game! Very logical - seemingly all possible scenarios with objects considered.
I get the same error on the yellow lever in the echoing chamber. If you use an object on the lever, the program crashes.

Fortunately, it should only crop up if you use the wrong object on it.

Ah, yes. I should prevent you from sending the hook until you've finished with it your side. I'm about to upload a version which should fix both of these issues. In the mean time, you can fix a save with a missing hook by using:
GiveOrDrop(ObjFind(125));
Using the dev console.

I can't seem to replicate this problem - it doesn't seem to be possible to light the burner without picking the cube up, and dropping the cube on the lit burner seems to work properly. Could you say what steps you did to get it in this state?
Does the cube not melt even after being dropped on the lit bunsen burner?

It's elementary, Watson! (c)
Ice cube carry in the upper room and leave it.
Come back, light the burner.
You go upstairs, take a cube and bear down, you put on the burner.
Voila! The cube is not melted.

Upd: do not even need to go anywhere. Simply lay out the cube, set fire to the fire and then take the cube and place!
A-ha! That's got it. That's what I get for leaving a project for over year before coming back to it.
A fix in dev mode is:
ObjSet(ObjFind(527),O_STATUS,1);
When the burner is lit and the ice cube is in your inventory.
Update 1.02 will appear very shortly.

The project is very interesting! If not - would have long ago abandoned :)
In other projects, I also found an error, so that everything is fine.
Well, then you can adjust at the same time a little bit of green card-key and the teleporter. There is an option card through the teleporter behind closed doors of the blue and yellow - and then also the end of the game. Then back card is not returned, but the truth save rescue, who is of course available)

Author, I hope you realize that you get in this place is impossible without the laser gun and the gun does not take a free 13 rubies, etc.

It shouldn't be possible to get in the top floor at all without fixing the gun.
There is a nasty bug due to a missing ObjPresent() in the AI for the monsters- I can't believe I played through that segment so many times and didn't trigger it, because you need to cross a room boundary to make them visible again.
I'm not sure what the problem is with the placement of Dizzy and Daisy, with the weapons you can get out of there with care.
It's deliberate that the ruby count stays the same after fixing the gun - after all, there are no more rubies to find.
A new version fixing the invisibility bug is uploaded now.

This means that rubies can never collect, and fuse did not look. It's funny, huh?
ps: and rubies I found all 13 and took a laser pistol, I just showed the bugs that you can not do this

Slingshot shoots the same way as a laser gun
Ah right- if you get the slingshot into Daisy's hand it counts as the laser and vice-versa - but I don't know how you managed to do it. There were some problems with those items getting sent via the teleport boxes when they shouldn't, letting there be two copies, but that should be locked.
The Screwdriver slipped through those cracks, and the next version will have that fixed
What steps do you follow to duplicate the slingshot and laser? I can't replicate it.

OK - next version up should fix the pedestal drop issue. For the technically minded, the code I was using to prevent special objects from triggering it only worked for those that were picked up in-game, and not those pushed into the inventory autoamtically. Guess which kind I tried when I tested that part.
The floaty glitch is weird. I can't see how it could happen, but I've changed the animation code so it's less clever and more robust.
And, azesmbog, there is now an easter egg just for you. Send the right item through the teleport on floor 6 and you'll see it.
