Interesting! I'm guessing that the 'cheat' in Winter World Dizzy is that it has a save game, but I'm curious what the 'cheat' is in Diamond Mine Dizzy? It already has a save game!

EDIT:: I see someone put 'infinite lives' into Illusion Island Dizzy. :v2_dizzy_dry: If I wanted people to play with infinite lives, I'd have put them in there myself.

Thanks to people like that who put cheats like that in my games, if I was ever to make another game (and that's a very big 'if'), it would be password protected. Not something I'd like doing, but it seems it's necessary to protect MY GAMES from being changed. :v2_dizzy_mad:

EDIT2:: to be clear, I don't mind people translating them, but I do VERY MUCH mind people adding 'cheats' to them.

Welcome to the world of 'piracy'. On the one hand it could be construed as a compliment that someone thinks enough of your game to warrant making a cheat for it as it's not as if anybody is making any money from a DizzyAge made game. On the other hand though, there is the issue of altering a game that has been designed to play in a certain way which is, as you say, basically a slap in the face.

Personally, I'd have no problems with people on this site adding passwords to their new games on a temporary basis (say six months) as there is both a help thread for players who get stuck and the coding thread to ask how certain actions are coded without having to unpak the game and go ploughing through the game files ...and after six months what would be the point of adding a cheat when most of us have already played it, especially as it seems to be new games that get cheats added.

So, how about it Jamie, will the third part of the Lords Of Darkness trilogy be published with a password or are we destined to never find out how it ends?

Meh, TLoD chapter 3.

I'll be honest, I've not even thought about starting it. Not even sure when I will.

There's a basic storyline there that I thrashed out inbetween doing chapter 1 and 2, as well as some draft ideas, but there's nothing else.

Damn me committing to a third part! :v2_dizzy_tongue:

That's the spirit Jamie, get wracked with guilt about all of us punters just itching to find out what happens to Dexter.

Don't know about other folk, but I love the top down view style of LoD ..just wish I knew how to do it.

There's 2 main parts to it really.

1. Work out how to stop the character 'falling', and add up and down directions.

2. Work out how to identify objects that the character stands in front of, rather than on top of.

Those are the hard bits to figure out. The rest is mainly variations on, and creative uses of, standard coding.
