Just wondering.
What dizzy site is best?
There are 4 Great dizzy sites:
Yolkfolk.com
Dizzyland.ru
Dizzy's Domain (http://www.samsolutions.co.uk/dizzy/)
Dizzy.pl

MY pluses for each site:
Yolkfolk.com
-more concetrated to Dizzy Ages Games.
-Have Special message (http://yolkfolk.com/site/page.php?id=8)from Oliver Twins:v2_dizzy_thumbsup:

Dizzyland.ru
-Concetrated on Spectrum games
-And spectrum dizzy fan games
-have a large download page(Like Fantastic Dizzy in AGA version)

Dizzy's Domain
-Lots of stuff

Dizzy.pl
-More dedicated to NES(?) dizzy games
-Lots of stuff that are missed in other sites(Like cheat codes for genesis Fantastic Dizzy)
-Fairly big download

MY Minuses:
Yolkfolk.com
-Can't download original dizzy games

Dizzyland
-In russian(I know this language, but still...)

Dizzy's Domain
-A little outdated...

Dizzy.pl
-In Polish language(Google translator won't help much)

Overall winner is Yolkfolk.com
So,What do you think about this specification?:dizzy_biggrin:

Thanks for the comments on Yolkfolk Kogasa :)

If you haven't checked the links page (http://yolkfolk.com/site/page.php?id=15) of the site yet, you might find a few more sites.

The reason we don't have downloads to the original games is of course due to legal reasons with Codemasters.

We do have many non-DizzyAGE fangames hosted on the site too, we tend to get our grubby hands on almost anything Dizzy related for the site

Dizzy's Domain was abandoned years ago, but it always contained a lot of useful information, but when it comes to game downloads, the site mostly linked to other sites, one of which was The Dizzy Zone which is sadly no longer online. :(

I often nose around Swiat Dizzy to see what the Polish Dizzy Community get up to, even though I don't know a word of Polish. :p (enjoy your 10th anniversary btw guys :p)

Dizzy Land hasn't been updated for 2 years, it seems the owners of the site just dissapeard off the face of the earth.

As for Dizzy Stories, well everything you need to know about delta's Dizzy creations is there. :) Downloads, Maps, Cheats, Tutorials etc.

Yes.
But it's not your fault. It's easy to overlook it, if you are non Polish speaker.
Dizzy.pl have official permission from Oliver Twins. Thanks that you can download Original Dizzy Games.
IMO this is a plus, right?

Ahh,yes.
I like how many big No-Dizzy Age games can be found there.
Dizzy.pl can't host poor quality dizzy games(like Zaks revenge) because admin don't have money. But I like most of these poor quality games (Like Zaks revenge or Alien Abduction Dizzy)
I always praise yolkfolk.com for this large download choose.

enjoy your 10th anniversary btw guys
Thanks, we do:v2_dizzy_walkman:

Hmm..
I plan to make an english version of denine.cba.pl (www.denine.cba.pl)
It's my site about Dizzy and some other games hacking\creation.

Does the DizzyAGE website count in its own right?

Just because the look and feel is so different from yolkfolk.com and the games appear for download on both?:v2_dizzy_confused3:

Sorry, I didn't mean to leave out mentioning the DizzyAGE site.

DizzyAGE is definatly a useful site if you ever wanted to make your own Dizzy game with the engine, It's full of demo tutorials, manuals on how the editor works, and possibly more easier of keeping track of any DizzyAGE only games that have recently come out.

And let's not forget the annual competition. ;)

Well done for starting this thread Kogasa. Im surprised we didnt have one already.

This could prove a very handy thread over time - to inform the forum & links page about any different/new Dizzy sites people find

Maybe someone can make english mirror of dizzy.pl?:)
Would it require lot of work?
BTW:I can understand some of Polish words because I used to have a worker from poland. This language is so complicated:v2_dizzy_blink:

Its a very interesting thread Kogasa has started.

As Adz said, we try our hardest to make Yolkfolk.com 'THE' Dizzy Fansite.
We are not biased to material. All welcome as long as they relate in someway to Dizzy, it goes on the site. (All rude, crude, obscene related media gets vetted and put on with a warning for the kiddies).

Yolkfolk.com welcomed DizzyAGE to join the community as the DizzyAGE project was, as still is, a fantastic easy to use tool to create Dizzy games and continues to be supported and updated. :v2_dizzy_yahoo:

We are not aiming to bring down any other Dizzy related sites with our 'Dizzy' scavenging across the internet, and encouage and help where we can.

Regarding Dizzy9's post, I have to contest...

Dizzy.pl have official permission from Oliver Twins. Thanks that you can download Original Dizzy Games.

You cannot post official Dizzy games for free download (or paid download for that matter) on your website.
No permission has been granted nor given by either Codemasters or the Olivers relating to this.
If this ever were to be the case, I'd like to believe that Yolkfolk.com would be the first to hear about it and would supply.

On a side note to everyone out there...
Ebay has a whole host of Dizzy games for sale. I would like to point out that while people reselling the official material is okay. There are some who are selling 'Compilations' of Dizzy material. This is ILLEGAL! :dizzy_mad:
I am working with EBAY to get these taken off their site.

Anyway, back to the thread...

While being a part of the Yolkfolk.com operation for a 'while', Its always interesting to see other sites who bring forth a new take and a new community together. Such as Dizzy.pl. Strangely, besides America, Dizzy has exploded (not literally) in other countries and I am always fasinated by this.
I would not like to specifically choose a 'Best Dizzy Site' but rather look at what all the sites bring collectively as a team.:v2_dizzy_wink2:

Can I start a quarrel?
Why you're saying yolkfolk.com is best (or you want make it best) and then you say you want to look on all sites as a team.
Isn't the first one contrary to second?
(Not that I can be wrong and I read this badly. If I misuderstood you then I'm terribly sorry!)

Its okay.. Perhaps I should rephrase what I ment.

Yolkfolk.com is designed to be the 'goto' site for all things Dizzy.
It is also supportive and helps all the other Dizzy related fansites on the internet :)

:dizzy_rolleyes:
BTW:
I used google translation(with not so good results) on denine.cba.pl site.
In download I found...new dizzy game? But for NES?
"Dizzy rainy Day" it's name is?
I never heard about it, it looks highly incomplete.
Are this is a prototype like Dizzy Adventurer for genesis?

I heard about Dizzy's rainy day, I think I came across a few music demo's from Dizzy9's YouTube channel, I think somebody from the Polish Community is working on a fan-made game for the NES.
It's definatly not an official Dizzy game though.

Ahh..that's bad.
Youtube, you say?
Spellbound Dizzy music in 8 bit!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMRXaTY--HM
I wonder why no one has ever done 16 bit themes into 8 bit themes.
