WooHoo! Hoped you couldnt keep away from DizzyAge!
Starting a little Jnr franchise eh?(hopefully;)) - but you'll need to go some to keep up with the number of games featuring Grandad's Daisy and Jamie's Dexter (although Dexter seems to have been put to bed :v2_dizzy_cry:)
Good luck with it, just dont forget the pirates!
you do make some lovely looking title screens

Yes lol, suppose it's good to have your own little take or 'franchise' so to speak if that's an appropriate way of putting it, like you say with Grandad & Jamie, gives variety for everyone in terms of gameplay & story.
Glad your happy with me deciding to work on another, thanks with the good luck, the hardest part is the starting of from the beginning as obviously all the work is to do but hopefully I will get some ideas along the way. I tend to start to enjoy it more once i'm on the latter half of development but decided I will do another, just won't put any time frame on it & just do bits as & when.
I'll try & remember the pirates !! :v2_dizzy_dry:

Thanks Colin, it's the first one i'm properly happy with seeing as i've now found a way of not losing the picture quality & them being a bit blurry.
I've used your blue glowing tile within it, hope you don't mind & any others I may use for the game. Thought best give credit with me using.
NOW WAIT A MIN..:dizzy_mad:
haha!! nah!, use whatever you want!!:v2_dizzy_thumbsup:
I've plundered a few games myself!

Unfortunately progress on this has pretty much come to a halt due to me now meeting a new ladyfriend in my life not to mention everything else that keeps me busy.
I have however done about 60% of the map (except nasties & the water brushes etc) I would say approx but virtually no programming code for the gameplay.
I am very pleased with it so far though, I like it the best of mine already & feel is an improvement once more & i'm pretty excited with it....but i'm not sure now when progress will be made on it. Not touched it now for approaching 2 months.

Thanks Quiggie, early days but it's lovely to be romancing again as you say :)
Edits: Sadly future outlook different and things haven't worked out.

Managed to progress the development a wee bit after not touching the game for around 3 months :O
I've now just one new section to start from scratch but all other sections are at least been in the works. Very little coding done as regards puzzles as need to get the basis of the map generated first.
Progress is very slow still so not even confident for being on time in 2012.

The Story to the game has now been added to the beginning of the progress thread.
All sections of the game map have now been started on & in the works to continue development....so the good news is no more parts to start from new : )
Some initial coding has begun.

The map is pretty much classed as complete yeeeee....:v2_dizzy_yahoo:
Just any creatures (baddies) and collectables to add plus any bits of alterations that need doing as I come to do the coding and work out the puzzles and sequencing with what will work and won't.
It's mainly all coding now which is about 25% done. I've still to work out however quite a number of puzzles & interactions to work with the map & story so hoping I get some more inspiration.
Is the Yolkfolk solstice when all eggs face directly up? :p

Thanks Quiggie, can't wait to get it finished to be honest on both fronts, so it ready for everyone to play and that it will free my time back up lol...although I expect some bugs will need addressing & some revisions required no doubt.
I've still got quite a lot of coding to do, work out some puzzles, testing, write my notes a record of what does what, where items are found or gain from where or whom & write the walkthrough.
The last bit might have to wait but if anyone gets stuck I need to remember myself what to do ha ha.

The game is nearing completion, the map is complete & the coding. I am so glad as it's been a lot of time and hard work !!. Posting some screen shots for you all to enjoy. Testing still to do and little bits only :v2_dizzy_smile:

:v2_dizzy_eek: looking impressive.
The detailing in all the rooms look really nice :)
You were the first person to release a DizzyAGE game last year, I have a feeling that you could again be the first to release a DizzyAGE game this year. :p

Thanks Meph, as i've learnt more i've managed to progress each game but this one i'm really pleased with !!
Wow.
Except... I find the top of the screen hard on (my 37-year old) eyes. By that I mean: yellow moon, yellow diamond count, yellow lives count, yellow part of the energy bar, yellow diamond, then below... (take a breath) yellow Enlightening and finally yellow item name. All of it against black background. I think it's mostly the title vs the item name that bugs me.
Oh, I know. Also, from a certain distance it looks like "Unlightuning Times", too.
Small nitpicks, sorry.
Cheers!

Yeah I could be lol...to be fair i've been many months ahead as I started in March a bit after the previous release. Apart from 3 months where I didn't work on it it's taken me the longest of all of them, about 8-9months to do but across nearly the last year. It is my largest game & a lot of time has gone into it. And in need of a good rest !!

What size screen are you using ? I've got quite a large screen so that has never come into thought, maybe on a smaller screen the default colours of dizzyage on the hud with the title colours & ones i've used might make it harder to see.
Oh I've a 24.5" widescreen. Like I said, might be just my eyes or the light isn't right in the room at the moment (it's 1pm and quite bright). I shall wait for the finished product though. I will play it even if you put green polka dots on pink background in the HUD :)!

Wow, Lord, this is looking good, can't wait to get my flippers on it!
@ Kirkub - 24in screen to play Dizzy? sounds like a bit of overkill to me, but I know they seem to do everything bigger in the US though. So, do you play Dizzy 'big and blocky' or small and in a corner of the screen?
My screen is the same size. 24inch, 1920x1200 resolution. :D
