a cant even get on any clouds yet waited ages on this game and cant even get by a few puzzles av also used n still got the trumoet

Clouds are answer;d You need to be in correction position to jump on clouds on the left;d

cloud jumping is *very* precise in this game. So precise that for a while, I thought that it wasn't possible.

right, currently available (possible) puzzles:

bees
steam
bog
shopkeeper
top hut?
get the pickaxe?
get up to the yellow blocks?

current items:

trumpet (used once)
large rock (hiding a diamond - may not have a use)
twigs

I did manage to ge thru the steam once - but i cant duplicate it! not that it helped me too much as there is a bridge covered in birds beyond, and that got me instead!:confused:

it is possible to pass the vent with out loosing anything. you don't need any items either.. as long as you keep as close to the bottom.

What i did was jump from the screen before from the edge of the grave you dug.

I just about got past those birds with only a small ht but no idea if we're meant to try and dodge them or anything.

but found a pirate, about to explore some underground stuff and found a Dozy who's cloud i can't not land on.. lol

Apart from the horrible clouds which are almost impossible (plus you can't tell which ones you can jump on and which ones you can't as they are all the same colour) and rolling to to the lava while jumping up the rocks im quite enjoying to so far.

Beware - there are a LOT of things that will kill you and as Meph says, cloud / hidden platform jumping is trial and error - be sure to have a recent save!
uncovered loads more to do in the castle and lots of new objects and lots of "Delta Diamonds" (ie hidden really well!:v2_dizzy_tongue:) up to 16 now , but not solved any more problems:v2_dizzy_frown:

I've reached one of Dozy's on the cloud and meet Theo and devil in the volcano. I'm wondering how go out from volcano, because I lost there 3 lives. Maybe somebody help us. I don't have any idea, where fill the bucket.

These are my items

Two twigs, branch, goblet, picake
de-clouding water (not sure how to use that) , hap hap root,. roof tiles
I've also found one ingredient for the witch, just noticed what the shell suit does.. lol

I've not seen any Devil either.., I've found a Dylan and just got killed by some bears. i also can't swim there seems to be what looks like an oil can in the sea.. maybe to use on the switch in the castle.
Theres also some bushes which kill me.

Erm for some reason i ate some cheese.. was this meant to happen?

Argh... I am obviously very thick as I can't seem to get anywhere with this game, I only have access to 6 screens!!! I have; 2 small rocks, a large rock, a branch and only 3(!) diamonds.

I need to help Grand Dizzy, sort the bog, get in the shop, past the goats and over the lava (I tried throwing in the small and large rocks as per Quiggie's earlier hint but no) the guy on the other side won't talk to me and I can't jump on any clouds...

Clearly I am missing something very obvious :v2_dizzy_blush: but please, what???!!!

i did find the 3rd twig.

The two small rocks get you across the lava.. if one dones't work try the other.

can't get any further.
found a couple of really sneaky diamonds.

the only thing i can see to do is get the oil for the switch but it's not possible to get it and back without drowning.. other than that none of my items will solve any other puzzle. So im not running around in circles trying all sorts.

Edit again: There really isn't enough energy in the game for all the amount of unavoidable dangers, i can't get down the volcano without loosing a life, Dizzy hits every flame. it's kinda spoiling the game sightly as there no chance to avoiding it you just have to get hit.

This game is driving me nuts :dizzy_frown: and i have restarted at least 7 times maybe more because the energy draining is so intense and lives are lost too easily when exploring and very often the respawning occurs in a place where you die immediately again.
I seem to be constantly saving and reloading. :v2_dizzy_jawdrop:
As you lot seem to be so much further on than me can anyone give me a few pointers please please and pretty please. :v2_dizzy_lol:

I have in my possession brick - 2 twigs - shell suit (used loads :v2_dizzy_smile: ) - goblet - trumpet (used twice) - pickaxe (used once) - blanket - branch.

I need to solve both grand dizzy's and possibly his machine - the bog - shopkeeper - dozy - getting under the sea without dying to collect the gem i know is there and the oil - pogie - possibly the wooden floor in the dungeon area - the stiff switch - the witches - the attic and storeroom where i know there is a diamond but something horrible kills me everytime and if it doesn't the bats do - dora and absolutely loads under the cliffs (amarog - reaching the megaphone - obtaining hap root - nettle thicket - bears - dylan - cloud minders).

And is there anything to nullify the effects of the spiders or am i supposed to get seriously hurt obtaining the diamond up there.

I have 15 gems and i know where there are another 6.

Edit cos ive opened lava palava but although i can find 2 diamonds - theo - the devil - the devilled egg and action the branch i cant get out or any further without dying. :cry: Ive also used the declouding water now but dont think its helped me any at this point.

The twigs are for use later on than where you currently are I think. Lava Palava is the top of the volcano and is the access to the inside but you don't need to go there yet. Try dealing with the Prickly Thicket first...

well pogie i've been round and round with these items and none of them work anywhere including the prickly thicket, unless i'm standing in the wrong place while actioning i can't get any further and haven't since yesterday :(

Got rid of the Devil and got further in the dungeons and found all those really nasty creatures..

Those who are stuck. have you been up Dylan's bean stalk? Theres someone up there who needs a sorting out, or try doing some bricklaying.. might be some steps thats need looking at. Don't worry about the bush you'll soon sort that out when the time comes.

Cant do volcano because i die none of my items seem to work on the prickly hedge and i cant find a use for the brick anywhere - cant see any steps that need fixing.
I know the oil can be actioned at the stiff switch but it doesnt do anything but that might be because i took the oil too early ie killing myself to get it.

Youve probably solved this by now but the volcano is more than just a big empty space and the declouding water is for clearing the mind to help out in an identity crisis.

The branch needs to become a torch but you may not be able to do that safely yet.

In order to solve the prickly hedge you need to start with the Hap-Hap root:)

p.s The witch's wasn't a bug you just have to stand in the correct place for each item,it's different for each one.. and thought there was a big with the Wizard but he needed something else first.

devil's trident (know what to do with this but need something green first), devilled egg

I have yet to solve: cloud minders, bears, both Grand Dizzy's and their cups of tea, shopkeeper, Theo, wake Dozy(s), Doras, witches (need something green), pogies...

I'm a bit puzzled as to why I haven't come across "pack of roof tiles" especially as I could think of a use for them?! Also, I didn't get anything in the fluffle room except a gem so not sure whether I should be able to do something else there.

I have 26 gems and know there is another near the spiders which I don't want to risk getting until I know it's my last one... I have all the ones listed by others so far.

Can anyone point me in a direction or do I now need to tear the last of my hair out finding the remaining gems...:v2_dizzy_eek:

i haven't freed theo, done dozy, dora, grabbed a pogie, hanging amarog?, finish the witches, dylan [can see the item for him but how to get it!!!!!], and the bears who might want honey!!!
and i have 26 gems, thinking i might need to have all those now but can't find anymore anywhere - i've got all the hard to reach ones that eat up life! mentioned in this thread
so pogie do i need all the gems now, if so some clues would be good, or are there more in parts of the map i haven't yet accessed!! still like the game very much though even with all the frustrations :hitwall::hitwall::hitwall:

I havent figured out what to do with the burning branch and think somehow thats what i need to be doing next.
I thought it might help with seeing in the dark room but no!
I know the 3rd pogie is in the lower level but keep getting eaten before i can do anything in there

Quiggie – I think we’re in a similar position, although I can’t see any item for Dylan! Do you have the hidden gem in the sea (the one behind the sea plant – that I got excited about because I tried to convince myself the sea plant was something green, ha ha!)

Prince – you’re right about the burning branch but you need to light something with it first – clue – it’s not far from the place you need to use it but you do need to stand in the right spot to light it, and you’ll find more than a 3rd pogie!!!!!

EDIT: Found one more - just one to go!!!

Okay, Ive come to a grinding halt. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Items I have:

3 x twigs, large rock, pack of roof tiles, hap-hap root (used to enter bog), branch (no idea how to light this without being killed), pickaxe (used once), a warm towel, a shiny goblet, shell suit (used to get though heated area).

Puzzles:

Dozy, Grand Dizzy's machine, Dora, switch in castle, Pogie, 2 of the Witches (given one a cat), Dylan, Bears, cut down the prickly bush but i still lose a lot of life getting though, getting into the volcano without losing life, getting the oil can without losing life, access to the dungeon.

Gavlaa - you need to deal with the birds on the other side of the prickly bush, you have the things you need - hint: they are trying to build a bigger nest, think what birds build nests with... There is also something in the water that will help with your problems in the volcano. Unfortunately there is no way to stop the bush prickling you when you have cut it down you just have to make a run/jump for it but there is a reward on the other side when you have sorted the birds...

Thanks for the help earlier, but it seems that I am stuck again. I've tried everything I ca think of but am still not getting any further.

You need to find all the diamonds and return them to Blackheart. Also, if you haven't used the burning branch yet you should do that too. You'll be able to figure out what to do next after that but I'm here all evening if you get stuck again!

I've used the burning branch once in the dungeon, but couldn't work out what to do after that. Are you saying all I can do now is collect all of the coins?

You've got the right place and the right item but you need to use the branch in a different way, there's a clue on the wall. Yeah I figured that out right after i posted but ive had enough of this now.
Ive got 26 diamonds i cant find anymore and im almost dead - again!!! - after collecting the battic and spider ones and am so sick fed up of starting over that im done.

Okay i was going to give up on this but i cant let it alone probably because i dont want to be defeatist.
I restarted from the beginning and am doing better as ive still got fruit to eat and have 2 full lives and still to find the extra life.
However i cant find the last diamond :cry:
Ive played this through so many times now i cant remember what ive collected and what i havent. :dizzy_confused:
Going by the list pogie posted i seem to be missing 1 from the tree/shop area as i have 11 from the castle and all the others listed.
God why do i always seem to have problems that no 1 else has?
Ive collected the ones from behind the bark - shop roof - bog - behind railing - behind grass and on walkway in plain sight so which 1 am i missing. :cry:

Thanks for the clues about the diamonds - my last one was behind the drawbridge mechanism too!! However, I'm stuck again!! I have the heavy cauldron but the witches have deserted me! I also have a megaphone which I don't seem to be able to use to wake Dozy - unless I'm standing in the wrong place? Actioning over him just gets me "you can't drop this now". I've also found a new Denzil who I can't seem to talk to...!

I'm down to within an inch of my last life and haven't come across this elusive other one, help I'm so close I can feel it!!!

Good game Pogie, I'd echo what others have said about the life draining nature of it but it was a good map with not too much trudging around. I struggled a bit with some of the puzzles that requested I do something with an item and then the use of it was unconnected, for example the "de-clouding water" and Dylan's power drill. Some were easier to figure out than others but I always expect the dialogue to give me my clues and I found it didn't always..... The game was great fun overall and had great humour, it would have been pleasantly rather than frustratingly frustrating if it weren't for the unavoidable dangers. I would definitely play it again.

one thing I can think of is that being able to get past the steam vent low down, but not high up, just doesn't make any sense to me.

Also, cutting the prickly bush does leave stuff that can hurt you.

can't think of anything else atm.

I agree with Delta on the prickly bush thing - that really irritated me!! Your alterations all sound good to me Pogie - nice idea on the spiders and the bug spray. The cloud minder thing was probably just me so I wouldn't worry, everyone has different things they find difficult - that's my excuse anyway!

The only other thing I would note is where you have to stand to action multiple items - the witches and Theo bit with the ingredients - if you stand in one place for one item you expect to be able to action the next in the same place otherwise you could erroneously assume that you've got the wrong item - does that make sense???!

I completely agree!

I would note however, that from a coding point of view, it is slightly easier to do it that way. Otherwise you have to ensure that the player is using the right items at the right time, and you also have to think of a way to check when 3 items (or whatever) have actually been used, such as with Theo or the witches.

I'm not saying it's hard to code that way, but it may be a bit hard to figure out if you've not done it that way before!

Pogie - another thing that maybe I am the only person to find frustrating is how easy it is to fall into the lava, having to climb slightly down to get to a suitable place to jump up again. and there seems to only be a couple of pixels of safe area from which to jump to get to the top.

Leaving aside the deliberate difficulties of jumping places and killers, this is a well programmed first game, well done and thanks!

Hi everyone,

Thought my dizzy ability had gone up a lot as have been able to get through a lot of great games lately without posting here for help but this game has me well and truly stuck!!!

Read through the whole thread and it seems like I'm just missing some little step (possibily literally!) to progress further. There's a few items it seems like I should have at this stage but I can't find them: de-clouding spray, the brick to attach to the yellow steps in the sky and I haven't been able to cut the hap hap root down or the prickly bush

Am also not sure what to do with the shellsuit. I've opened up the volcano though but can't go down because of the fire. I read something about filling up the bucket with steamy caves water but am not able to do that.

My items are: Shellsuit, pickaxe (used x1), bucket, 2 x twigs (can see 3rd set), large rock, branch, shiny goblet, warm blanket, trumpet (used x2).

Maybe am missing a cloud jump or something?

Any pointer would be very gratefully received!!

Carrying theshellsuit gets you past the steam and through the steamy caves under the cliffs without being hurt. Fill the bucket from the caves and then exit the caves through the pipe. That should get you a bit further.

I reckon you're at the point where you need to find all the diamonds and give them to Blackheart. I'll pm you their locations but most of them are hidden in logical places so have a go at figuring it out first - it makes it much more satisfying when you find one! :)

The devilled egg will get you an extra life if you give it to the right person. The blanket is useless.
The goblet is useless.
Once used the megaphone is useless.
The hap-hap root has two uses - it gets you into the bog and after that must be given to somebody in order to obtain another object.
If you use the oil on the switch in the castle the pickaxe can be used on the outside wall above to allow you to read the scroll outside the back of the castle. Other than that once used it is useless too.
I'm assuming you've returned the diamonds to Blackheart? You should have received something in return, this object should be given to somebody who needs it.
