View Full Version : Do all of your original copies still work?
Mine do :)
I own all the dizzy games for the Amstrad cpc (and some i have twice)
and they all work.
I have had some trouble with Treasure island dizzy in the past but it works fine nowadays for some reason
and Magicland dizzy will only load on one side, (i had to glue the cassette together a while ago though since it fell apart.)
lol i'm glad because a few of my other games developed read errors at some point during the years :(
I don't think any of my tapes work anymore let alone my Spectrum and Commodore
My Sega Megadrive still works, so does Fantastic Dizzy :)
all my speccy tapes and 3 inch disks still work :v2_dizzy_clapping:
Most of my tapes work. Aswell as buying the boxsets i also have the individual games aswell as a back up. Most of the time the reason a tape doesn't work is because of the tape player not the tapes, it gets dusty or the player heads move out of allignment, i've had that before.
Alas all my CPC stuff is no more.
All my Dizzy collections on various formats (about 5 complete sets :v2_dizzy_scared: ) are all working 100% :v2_dizzy_tongue2:

If you blow hard enough on the cartridge :v2_dizzy_lol:

That be true
Apparently cartridge games have a lifespan of about 15 to 25 years. The game is stored on an IC chip which will naturally lose it's ability to store information which means one day it will be useless, sad really.
Emulation however means the game is captured and can be used forever which is a plus.
All my Amiga discs are in perfect working order. One or two non-Dizzy games have given up the ghost over the years, but all the Dizzy games are OK.
last time I tried, my Amstrad tapes still work. I no longer have the original 464(I really miss that) but I still have the 464+ with the cart slot
I've got the codemasters cd collection for the speccy. has a few scratches
the atari st disks should still work but the internal disk drive died

anyone with an early Amstrad 464 ever tried typing in
call 19

All of my Commodore cassettes still work, however last year I used an Action Replay cartridge to store them all across about 3 double sided discs so I have no need to use the cassettes now....
