Hi,
Since DizzyAGE v2.0 is under development and the documentation will be updated,
I start this thread to ask for advices for a "Beginners Start" or a "Beginner FAQ" chapter.
So if you have any requests or suggestions, write a reply about it.
Like things you bumped in and found no obvious answers in the current manual or tutorials.
Oh, or how would be a better tutorial for beginners.
Thanks!
Alex
I downloaded the program a few days ago. I'll let you know if I think of anything.
new documentation should explain the differences between brushes and objects more clearly, what they are, and what code to use when dealing with them.
it may also be a good idea to include a tutorial on opening doors, or demolishing walls etc, as that took me absolutely ages to figure out. pretty much everything else in Diamond Mine Dizzy was adapted from code i found in the tutorials!

Any nice new features ;) i've got a few suggestions :v2_dizzy_biggrin:

Well, I'm concentrating on clearing the source code of the engine, because
the old one was doing more that it should and was not very portable.
I already have rendering with OpenGL and DirectX9 (no more DirectX8)
The main goal is to release the engine's sources.
As for feathures, I don't have something precise yet.
I plan to adjust the default template a little to be more friendly, I hope.
I'll also try to improve the music interface. Maybe the songs and samples will have ids like the tiles and the engine will load them all, so users will not need to load them in the script and remember their indexes.
Maybe up and down keys, for more intuitive menu navigation, or other tricks.
Feel free to post any idea, suggestions or requests.
mybe more pictures of were to click or fill in would be nice
