View Full Version : Feverbound Dizzy (HELP THREAD)

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do this as a mere mortal and not an official person (moderators, please delete this if not), but I need a Feverbound Dizzy help thread!
I've got loads of items (crowbar, chisel, can of oil, enticing juice, bottle of milk, aqualung, trowel and maybe a couple of others), but only solved one puzzle so far (opening the grating at the train station).
Other puzzles I found are:
The pirate guy
Ticket attendant
Not being allowed to board the train
Columns under the train station
Hungry beast
Magical well
Transporter
Grating thing blocking the entrance to the hollow tree
Can anyone suggest which puzzle I should work on next?
Thanks!

If your still stuck - I think you can find a use for the crowbar...

Thanks for the tip - I'll give the crowbar a go!
I'm really enjoying this game - there seems to be a lot to find in it, and it looks good too. Looking forward to getting a ride on the train!

It will be obvious when you need it. I'd concentrate on using the crowbar first...
I'm at a standstill again now, have managed to cure Grand Dizzy but struggling with the closed chest in the air pocket, any clues are welcome!

I have snorkel and flippers, a trowel, magnet, heavy duty hammer and a can of oil. I think that (before I downloaded a new version) I also had an anvil but I could have just dreamt that as I cannot find it anywhere now. I have been to the first floor of the hospital but not the second, have sorted the troll and Grand Dizzy and managed to coax pogie from the tree but the poor thing doesn't feel right so won't let me pick him up... I haven't solved the well, the hollow tree or the transporter in the forest. Mmm, just reading that back, doesn't seem like I've actually done much but it feels as though I have!!!
EDIT: WhyNotSmile - it's a very normal Dizzy thing to do with a crowbar - you'll definitely have used the crowbar in a similar fashion before in previous games so try not to make it too difficult (I really kicked myself after I had used it!!) - if you still need help I can PM you?

Thanks... I'll have another go with the crowbar and see if I can get anywhere. Is it actually used on a puzzle (ie. somewhere where a red box popped up with a message), or is it not so obvious as that? I can't find anything that needs to be opened, and I'm assuming that's what you mean by a 'normal Dizzy thing to do with a crowbar'... i.e. it's not used as a lever or anything?

- if you havent already, you could go back to explore the treehouses - you might find another familiar face...
- Also, when you go swimming, the hammer might come in useful or there abouts
Whynotsmile, you'll need to find a use for the crowbar before you can 'travel' further....

Meph, you should have an item to solve the pirates puzzle....
Nah he doesn't want any of my items.
Chances are theres a another 'hidden' puzzle like the crates that i haven't found yet.
I think i need to start again, I've lost a few items in the background too.. lol
woo i found the eye on the column but dones't do anything..lol
Yet.
However you need to be careful about those spiders they damage you from the next room, and those jumps are massive.

Frog - probably your next puzzle is one of the hard ones, I thought - but it is very rewarding....I remember a similar puzzle I think in Volcano Island?? which also got me stumped.
The trick is that in this game, the devil is in the detail - things that look interesting or out of place usually are worth exploring.
Without giving too much away, try narrowing your search around the outside of the hospital grounds....

Does this refer to use of the thing that Grand Dizzy gives?? If not I think I may be missing something... I have now freed Dylan and banished the ghost but once again have come to a brick wall of confusion! The trouble I have is that I don't actually have that many items - (apart from flippers and snorkel) magnet, trowel, empty oil can and solderer and I don't seem to be able to use any...

LDOY - i've died a couple of times on exiting the library and the storeroom :v2_dizzy_confused2: - thank god for saves
:O Very very difficult, I've still solved 2 puzzles and nothing else.
Can't seem to access any more parts pf the map, and none of the items work on any of the current puzzle locations.. There must be a 'hidden' item somewere or a hidden puzzle like the crowbar one. Keep running around all other the shot.
Edit. oh yeah the train ride was cool. and i love all the detail.

Well all I've done it been on the train and opened that little grate under the station. So I've only used crowbar, bag of gold, ticket, and bolt cutters But i have left chisel, magnet, hammer, Juice, milk, oil, trawl, snorkel, and some rope think that might be it. :v2_dizzy_happy:

I'm always in that position when I play others games, always struggle to get the last few collectables. I have a list should you struggle to find it.
Thanks with the PM reply, yes I never like hunt the last collectable, it's the worse part of dizzy games really as it's frustrating to find when so close to completing. Just let me know if you get to the point where you feel you just won't find & I'll send the list.
Good question with the chest, yes you have to open it up.

**SPOILER**
Only highlight if you want to:-
I deliberately made that you could extend the ladder down in the storeroom so you would have a quick shortcut once you got to that stage of the game to get back to those areas without having to go the long way round every time.
I think a number of people haven't found you can do that.

I'm totally stuck at about the same place as Meph. Can't find anywhere to use the chisel - it's definitely not obvious to me!
I've been on the train and got a couple of things from the other end of the line, plus all the things from the original part of the game, but I've only used crowbar, loot, ticket and whatever opened the grate.
Help!
you'll kick yourself when you find out.

Woo hoo, did it now! Had been confused by someone saying it's a masonary chisel... I was chipping away at buildings. Haven't read my PM yet, but thanks!
livilad1, you need to use the chisel to get something for another puzzle (its use is really obvious once you have it, as long as you have ridden the train and explored a bit).
The place where you use the chisel is somewhere where you may have noticed some 'equipment' which you don't need. It's not too far from where you started, and you don't need to have solved any other puzzles to figure it out.

Should I attempt another game I have some thoughts on one or two things I want to try and do...however im completely out of ideas of how I can build another map and what type of puzzles to try include. I think it will be either a small to medium size one next time whenever I get the inclination & prob more importantly now some inspiration.
Anyway when you get time and feel up to it good luck in development of yours.

I am stuck at 48 coins - do I need to find the dreaded final two before I can move on? If so, I think I have looked everywhere...:v2_dizzy_confused3:
Hiya,
Done well with the chest and yes your very correct. If you would like the coin list let me know as yes you need to get them all now to progress.
Doing good :dizzy_cool:

Both you and Kirkub are very close to finishing now as you say, doing really well !!
You need to go swimming again to use one of those items to get you in the right area.
OK, did that... but do I also need do do something to the amulet to get past Zaks? Cos at the moment, I just die every time!
Would also love a list of coin locations!

Yes there is a small clue if you try using the amulet on the ground below Zaks poison balls after youve climbed up after using the key.
Having just re read your post your not actually in a position to get past Zaks, you can't until you have all the coins. I'll send you the list.

Thanks for the list, slightly :v2_dizzy_blush: I needed it in the end. After such a promising start I seemed to get a bit stuck! I really loved this game Lord Dizzy, fabulous storyline - it had a great feel to it and it was definitely challenging enough for me! How brilliantly frustrating that two of the bits that I spent soooo much time trying to figure out in the beginning (the transporter and the hollow tree entrance) are not solved until almost the very end!!! I think the shortcuts that opened up halfway through were good, the whole map was really well thought out and I think connected together well. My only criticism is some of the spelling in the dialogue but that's not really relevant to game play. Overall, a superb game, easily one of my favourite fan games and one I will definitely play again, thanks for making it and for all the help . Good luck with the competition!

First of all well done for finishing !!! :v2_dizzy_clapping:
Really pleased you found the shortcut at the part of the game was beneficial & the game on the whole appropriately challenging.
On the latest release I managed to correct one or two typos, unfortuantely with typing so much of the dialogue you do tend to miss a few even though you try to make sure there aren't any (I don't like missing them though lol).
Thanks for playing & I guess you can't get any better feedback than someone saying it's a game they would definately play again & one of their faves. Certainly makes the time and effort in making it worthwhile & a success in the sense dizzy fans have enjoyed & in essence that's the main aim. Thanks with the good luck too !! :v2_dizzy_happy:

Can anyone give me a little hint about how to get rid of the ghost down in the basement? I've tried all my items, refilled can of oil, Dylan's spray repellent, aqualung, flippers, solderer, trowel, magnet, but have run out of ideas! Am absolutely loving this game by the way, really impressive and can't wait to see what's next! Thanks!

Thanks for the comments, pleased you are.
Youve actually got the item you need, just need to use at the right spot just a bit in from the left on the ground when the ghost is away from you :v2_dizzy_happy:

Am also now at the stage a few others on here have been at, with 48 coins and the amulet, uncoated! Think I have tried every railing, clump of leaves etc for the last two but they are eluding me :(
Any chance of a coin list too? Can't wait to see what's beyond zaks!
Thanks.

OK, I've finally accepted defeat and looked through this thread and am still being as thick as a plank ...and so early in the game too!!!!!
I've opened the grate by the station, but none of the items I have do anything on the column by the eye. I've got as far as the hospital entrance ...and diligently searched the grounds. Ive been through the tree complex and think I've jumped everywhere and tried everything on the machinery and the grating at the very top...and nothing seems to work on the pirate. I've even tried using the chisel everywhere but nothing seems to happen.
I have a chisel, some oil, the enticing stuff, scuba, milk, rope, trowel, hammer and magnet.
As I'm still in the very early part of this game could someone just let me know what I should do with any one of the items I have rather than giving me an oblique clue ...pretty please!

Have you used the chisel at all yet? If not, you need to work on that... Here are some clues, in increasing order of obviousness!... warning, by the end these are blindingly obvious!
The thing you are trying to get with the chisel will help you get over the causeway to the left of the hospital. There is a message there to give a hint.
You will have seen the item, but maybe not noticed. It's near where you started.
You need to chip the item out of the wall it's embedded in.
Go to the screen to the right of the library.

Thanks WhyNotSmile ...I had to use the 'blindingly obvious' clue. Typically it was practically the only place in the whole map that I hadn't tried using the chisel!!

Hi Steve, this puzzle seems to have turned out to be the most troubling one to solve to progress but when you do it should lead to start & open the game up.

Hi Matt, thanks so much for the coin list, was definately needed! Would never have found the hidden coin on the way up to Dora's on my own!:v2_dizzy_biggrin:
Decided to play the whole game again from scratch, so pleasurable when you know you're not going to have that sinking feeling of being one coin short at the end of a game. Anyway, am finished now and thought the whole game was fantastic. Especially loved all the interaction with the yolkfolk and thought the puzzles were at the perfect level of difficulty. Really really great work, massive kudos to you. Can't wait to see the next one!

Your very welcome with the coin list, I nearly always need them myself when playing others games, hunt the last coin or few coins gets frustrating.
Really pleased with how you found the game as you obviously enjoyed it, thanks very much for the comments and feedback
As regards a next one, I think I will attempt to do another sometime in the future although likely to be a small to medium size one (depending on what ideas come to the fore). There will be a surprise with it as
well all being if I can manage to do what I want to try and do.
Is it me or does the the chap in the ticket booth look like that geezer from wacky races?
Anyway.. im kinda stuck, gotten myself back to where i was before.
I have
Snorkel and flippers
Magnet
Hammer
Can f oil
Empty barrel
Trowel
Couple of things i can find to do is open the chest, the locked bit in the tree house, getting to floor 2 in the hospital, and i think there are things to do in the storeroom/basement

:v2_dizzy_thumbsup:, as regards where you picked up the chain links you can't progress from there until you use it somewhere relatively nearby.
:v2_dizzy_confused3:
Still with the empty barrel, trowel, soldering and magnet and going nowhere fast.
Long list of things to do.
Lift in the tree house.
Blocked entrance in the tree House
Pogie (his down from the tree)
Locked Chest
Level 2 of the Hospital
Dozy's Pillow
That beast in the tree house

Im a bit puzzled, you can't have got where you are unless you have already used the empty barrel, have you listed this by mistake :v2_dizzy_confused2:
Anyway have you reached the medicine supplies area in the hospital basement yet, if so explore there very carefully again (I was a bit sneaky there). If not I would need to know a bit more where you are.
right, I'm playing this now, and have the chisel, rope, trowel, hammer, enticing juice, oil, snorkel, magnet, and milk. I'm a bit confused by early posts suggesting I can solve the pirate, as he doesn't want anything. Also I cannot find anywhere to use the chisel 'near the start', or 'somewhere that I've climbed up before'...
Also can't find anywhere to use it that's near the post office (or maybe nearer the library).

The chisel is used to get something which will enable you to climb up something...
Think of somewhere that you have climbed up before (well, jumped up), and see if you can use the chisel there to get something that would be helpful elsewhere.
ahhh thank you! close to the post office, my arse! :v2_dizzy_dry:

I seem to have so many things noted that could be puzzles to solve but not sure.
I cant solve any1 or anything other than getting Pogie down from the tree but theres obviously more to do there - ive given the troll what he wants and ive opened the buddha so managed to access the first lift in the hospital but thats as far as ive got.
I have 24 coins - thought it interesting that the very first coin i pick up says "you have collected all of the coins" when clearly i hadnt.
The items I have are magnet - trowel - bottle of milk - heavy duty hammer - aqualung snorkel - can of oil - wood axe.
The obvious puzzles are the hospital air vent - lift to the 2nd floor of the hospital - cable transporter - hollow tree - dual purpose well - hungry beast as well as dylan, dozy, denzil and grand dizzy
Im looking for inspiration on what to do next.
Please :egg:
Have used the woodaxe now had already used it there before but obviously wasnt standing in just the right place.
Hopefully that will get me going a bit further now.

Stuck again although got a bit further on than post above.
I have 48 coins - i know there is 1 beside Zak
Possible puzzles to solve are authorised personnel door in station - monolith - statues of peace love sacrifice hebe and king david - getting past the chain near the morgue where i can see a key - the party room pot - cable transporter - yellow ribbon - high floating clouds near the hollow tree - and pogie who is down from his tree already.
The only items i have are a magnet - trowel - solderer - aqualung - flippers - amulet - critical dose kit.
I suppose i must get the key from behind that chain to open the trapdoor to Zak - but how?
Im assuming im not really supposed to be able to pick up the bubbles when underwater?
princeoftheyolkfolk
08-10-10, 05:35 PM
Didnt expect to be able to pick up Pogie so easily lol
Need 1 more coin and cant get any further without it i think.
Any helpers out there or a copy of the coin list please?

I really have to apologise, when the last update was done it looks like the 'coin count' had
been left in test mode and not updated to the 50 quantity when setting the define variable.
mrdarek also highlighted this which I have only just seen.
