ok so i thought i'd keep drip-feeding y'all information on how it's coming along, and provide a few screenshots every now and again just to tease you even more! :p

basically i'm at the stage now where all the puzzles are done, coded, items placed etc, with the exception of the end puzzle. i'm also about half-way through putting all the hazards in, and i still need to add detail to quite a few rooms, as well as coding it so that save games actually work...

actually, thats something i need peoples opinions on, because i think that save games are against the spirit of dizzy, but on the other hand, this is going to be quite a big game.... so do you all think that i should include a save game option, or remove it?

anyway, screenshots:

Screenshots are looking good :say_yes:

Well I've usually managed to tackle Dizzy games without the save feature but I wouldn't mind you putting it on your game :)

I look forward to playing the game when It's ready :)

I think the best way to handle it would be limited saves. You obtain some items along the way that you can use to save with, but they get used up. Kinda like the way Resident Evil does it.

Or perhaps a checkpoint system where the game automatically saves after certain puzzles are completed.

i really don't know that i could be bothered doing that, i'll probably just leave the save game in without restrictions.

UPDATE: pretty much all the hazards are now done, altho i might add a few more...

Also coded the ending, so the game can actually be completed now! wooo! altho the ending isn't anything really atm, i might change it a bit so there's a end screen or something...

oh and i completely re-drew 4 screens cause i didn't like them... much happier with them now! :p

okies more updates:

i've decided not to add anymore hazards, as there's already quite a few.

all the diamonds are now in place, and i've run through the game.

3 puzzles didn't work! doh! they're fixed now, so the game can be completed!

i've made the ending better, although i haven't finished coding it yet. it'll only take a few lines tho.

so.... well, i think it's getting close to being finished. oh except i have to list all the static brushes i've assigned IDs to in the 'Save' file...

okies, i've changed a few bits of coding on Alex's recommendation, and i've also added bubbles when dizzy is underwater.

also added a bit of sparkle to the mines, and added a few little graphical touches here and there.

i've also changed a few scrolls and added a few more hazards, so that a couple of rooms have more going on in them.

i'm now just working through the game making sure that all the message boxes are where i want them, and waiting for Alex to give me anymore feedback after i gave him a walkthrough cause he was stuck... :v2_dizzy_tongue:

basically, it's finished.... almost...

anyway, i guess i'd better give y'all a screenshot!
